WWE SUMMERSLAM PPV 8/20 8PM ET - HHH V BROCK LESNAR | PUNK V CENA V SHOW P27

AW running his mouth is all fine and good, but the fact is he has 10,000 followers.  99.9% of fans don't even know that he was fired.  Of the 10,000 people that follow him, they are hardcore internet wrestling fans, and they already know all the little inside jokes and digs he's posting, so it's really accomplishing nothing.

- Regarding Kharma's WWE departure, the reputation she had gotten that hurt her the most was that in training, they felt she was lazy and it was going to be difficult to get her back in shape.

- WWE's recent shows in Japan were seen as positives but there were complaints about the advertising. Unlike here in the United States, changes to advertised cards in Japan is a big deal. WWE had advertised a Daniel Bryan vs. Rey Mysterio match that fans were looking forward to but didn't get to see.

- Expect Sin Cara vs. Cody Rhodes to be added to the WWE SummerSlam card on Sunday. As noted before, Damien Sandow vs. Brodus Clay is also penciled in. If both of these matches happen, that would bring the SummerSlam card to 10 matches, including the pre-show match.

-After last week's reports about WWE talents being upset with the Central and South American tour payoffs, we noted that WWE sent out a text message saying there was a clerical error and that new payments would be issued. That text message to the talents read like this: "There was an accounting error on the Brazil checks that we have rectified. You will be receiving a new check asap."

This text message came almost immediately after complaints were voiced by JTG, which saw him become very popular among the midcard wrestlers because some saw him as a guy at the lowest rung of the WWE ladder who stood up to management which resulted in everyone getting more money

- It sounds like William Regal is teasing the WWE TV debut of Dean Ambrose. A fan asked Regal who Ambrose is and Regal replied:

"You'll know soon enough. A new villain will come to town."

- WWE made a profit of $300,000 on the re-release of No Holds Barred with Zeus and Hulk Hogan. They spent $100,000 on production and marketing but are expecting their cut of DVD sales to end up at $400,000. This makes No Holds Barred the third most profitable movie WWE has put out in the last 5 years.

- When John Laurinaitis was in Japan for the recent WWE shows, people in the Japanese wrestling business who aren't aware that he lost his real-life powers in the company came to see him and were pitching ideas about how their promotion could serve as a Japanese territory for WWE. The ideas pitched by promoters were that WWE would support their territory, send American wrestlers over where to work a full-time schedule as well as sign promising Japanese talents and use them on WWE TV. No word if there's any interest from WWE but likely not right now.

- WWE officials are looking at trying to find a TV outlet to air their pay-per-view pre-shows on, similar to what the FX Network does with UFC events. WWE's goal is to have the YouTube pre-show moved to regular TV by early 2013.

They also want to have a UFC-like one-hour coutndown show for WrestleMania 29, similar to the special they did for The Rock vs. John Cena.

- WWE Champion CM Punk recently filmed a commercial for Combos snacks.

- Actor Kris Kristofferson's son Jody is now working in WWE developmental under the name Garrett Dylan. He lost to Xavier Woods in a dark match at the August 9th NXT tapings.

- The 1000th RAW had 461,000 people or 11.7% of the total audience watching on DVR or tape delay, a higher number than usual.

- Triple H is pushing to get Michael McGillicutty re-packaged. Triple H is high on McGillicutty and Drew McIntyre as far as long-term potential goes.

If Swagger can't get any heat from Johnny Ace, he needs a complete overhaul. He reminds me of when Ted Jr was a heel, and didn't ever get a reaction until he got his youtube show and turned face.
When exactly did Dibiase ever get a reaction?

Anyway, pairing Swagger with Ace would be exactly like pairing him with Vickie.  Ace and Vickie are very similar.  People give them EXTREME heat because it's the thing to do. But it's not real heat that actually means anything in a storyline or angle.  The way to get Swagger over is a gimmick overhaul and to push him.  Not pairing him with another manager.

Why in God's name do they think anyone would actually tune in to see the PPV preshow matches?  Note to WWE: UFC puts on four real fights on their preshows.  Not a 3 minute comedy match.  The Youtube preshows usually peak around 80,000 viewers.  I don't see any cable station jumping on this.

And to add, the fights as of late have actually been better than the actual PPV.

You'd have to have been watching Smackdown and Superstars to figure that out. He gained a pretty good cult following after awhile when he started his youtube show (Dibiase Posse or something like that). Apparently the WWE trying to make him a rich heel just like his dad isn't at all how he is in real-life, and you could tell be how much fun he was having as a face before his injury.

I see case already posted that JTG thing.

Interesting. I still wonder when that locker room grievance meeting was held, who lead it, and which people didn't speak up even though JTG mentioned "me and my locker room brothers" in his original tweet.

I hate McGill right now, but he's definitely been getting better in the ring (thanks to Tyson Kidd & Justin Gabriel), so I'm all for an overhaul on him, since he just looks like some dude right now. McIntyre's been deserving of something for awhile now, even though I've never been a fan of his outside of having the best theme today and a nice finisher.

Triple H Expected To Push More Tag Team Wrestling

- Those that are close to Triple H have stated that as he gains more power within WWE, that they expect more effort put into tag team wrestling, and less put into the Divas wrestling.

Triple H has been said to never be very high on women's wrestling, but feels that a solid tag team division is very valuable. While WWE has added female talent to developmental, the feeling is that Triple H will focus on having a few solid workers in the Divas division and keeping the attention on them.

Furthermore, it is said that the days of signing female talents from modeling agencies and magazines are said to be gone. This is something that took place under the reign of John Laurinaitis in charge of talent relations. Triple H wants to more as far away from that way of doing business as possible

I'll believe it when I see it, since this same story about tag team wrestling was told right before Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne won the titles, and they just rotated facing Miz & R-Truth until Bourne got suspended.

I will ask, how many of you hip to All Japan Womens? At it's peak some of the best wrestling in the world. WRESTLING. Biggest star = Minami Toyota

Current question for everyone. Larry Zybyszko brought this to my attention.

What is the difference between RAW and a PPV? Why should I pay for a PPV when I essentially get the same thing from watching RAW? Names vs. Names is what made PPV's worth buying before the Monday Night Wars. Then they went away from Jobbers. Since the Monday Night Wars, every match is a "big" match.

So why am I wanting to see a PPV?

I know about the Dibiase Posse.  Our very own Lobo was the leader of it.

I think our definitions of getting over are different though.  Cult following, yes, definitely.  But getting over, eh, I'll disagree there.

We're supposed to get finishes on a PPV whereas 75% of "big" Raw matches end in screwjobs/non-finishes.

Ok. Now, if a promotion is being run properly, how often should run ins happen?

And if a promotion is run correctly, how would RAWs be different from PPVS? Same answer as it currently is?

No, not at all.  The first thing WWE needs to do is stop living and dying by the 15 minute ratings breakdowns.  They're not competing against another wrestling show, so focus on putting a good product on TV rather than The Miz losing 400,000 viewers for his segment.

Then you need to start things from scratch and clearly identify lower, mid, and top tier talents.

You have lower tier guys feud with lower tier guys.  You have mid tier guys feud with mid tier guys.  You have top tier guys feud with top tier guys.  The difference is, the top tier guys don't wrestle each other on free TV except on rare occasions.  The lower tier guys will have their matches on shows like Superstars, NXT, and some Smackdown.  The mid card guys will be a main event on the smaller shows and largely focused on Smackdown and get some time on Raw.  Then on Raw, you have your top tier guys feud but not actually wrestle.  You have them remain top tier by beating the lower and mid tiers that have been built up on the other shows.  That way you save the top tier vs top tier matches only for PPV.

And when you want to elevate a lower tier guy, you have them beat a mid tier guy.  And when you want to elevate a mid tier guy, you have them beat a top tier guy.

I don't believe you can have jobbers on TV in 2012, but if you have different tier level "superstars," I think it would lead to interesting, entertaining TV, and help with making PPV's feel special.

Cool. Good write up there.

Right now (or later whenever you feel like it) can you list the current tiers in your opinion.

Superstars
Cena
HHH

Etc.............

If you don't feel like it I understand.

^So much logical truth, yet the WWE will continue to do the opposite until they feel like things like that are neccessary

Top: Cena,Punk,Sheamus,Big Show,Del Rio

Mid:Miz,Bryan,Ziggler,Jericho,Kane,Ryback,Sandow,Broadus"Shuckin and Jivin"Clay,Christian

Low:Kidd,Primo/Epico,JTG,Ryback's rape victims etc

That's why I never get excited about new angles in the WWE anymore. They usually mess them up within the first month and reduce hot superstars to jobber status afterward.

Paul Heyman just had a mini rant on Twitter:
Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

@WWE #SummerSlam #BrockLesnar vs #HHH #ThePerfectStorm Has Hit L.A.! Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in!

5m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

Is this hype? Yes. But it's Hype routed in TRUTH. Is this a rant? A diatribe? A long-winded TwitSpeech? Absolutely! Hope you liked it.

5m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

... and I'm looking forward to watching Brock and HHH live up to, and indeed EXCEED everyone's expectations.

5m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

So ... I'm not addressing any more rumors. I'm not confirming. I'm not denying. I'm focused on this Sunday ...

5m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

And just based on what his future holds, HHH is "all-in," too. This is a match everyone wants you to remember

6m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

Brock and I are "all-in" for this Sunday.

6m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

If we haven't sold you on the ppv yet, then thank you for your time, and I hope something else has captured your attention or imagination.

7m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

Now it comes down to Brock Lesnar vs HHH. If we've sold you on buying the ppv, I bet you get your money's worth on this match alone.

7m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

You've seen @ShawnMichaels, Stephanie McMahon, all our CHILDREN be a part of this main event.

8m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

If for no other reason but THAT, there's nothing 2 discuss. You know there's a heavily-promoted match this Sunday at @WWE #SummerSlam

8m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

Enjoy the ride. Watch it unfold. See what happens. For the first time in forever, we have people GUESSING what comes next.

8m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

This whole deal has been a surprise. A surprise for you. A surprise for my kids. A surprise for the WWE Universe. A surprise for ME, too.

8m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

The @HeymanHustle website and digital program has been the cornerstone of our agency, and we love doing it.

8m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

Building #Looking4Larry with @MStuart777 has been a total blast!

9m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

When I left @WWE in 2006, I thought I was done. Gone. Never to return. I loved working with Brock on his book.

12m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

Here's my reasoning for it ...

12m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

And, just for the record, I'm not discussing it.

12m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

... and since NO ONE knows what my deal is, it would be impossible for anyone to state with certainty what my situation IS ... or ISN'T!

13m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

Not one single person has hit the nail on Brock's deal with @WWE ... and that's the way Brock likes it!

13m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

The other rumor to address ... Whether @WWE is interested in extending my deal, Brock's deal, etc.

13m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

@CMPunk doesn't need an advocate. Nor a spokesman. Nor a representative. That's not his character. Brock's character totally different.

13m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

So if @CMPunk and I have ... or had .. or will have a plan ... I assure you, it would have / will play out in front of your very eyes.

13m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

Did anyone know I was coming back on May 7th as Brock's representative? NO ONE KNEW!

14m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

@CMPunk and I have NOT pitched the idea of being aligned to anyone. If we did, you wouldn't know about it.

19m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

Just to address two items that so many people seem to be giving credence to ...

19m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

HOWEVER (aha! There is a "but" involved here) ...

19m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

Brock's theory of "let them speculate" seems to be a damn smart one, and I certainly see the merits of that position.

27m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

We're going to clear up some issues. Set the record straight. Get some people "on point," and stir some things up!

27m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

If you don't want to be subjected to a rant or diatribe, unfollow us for the next 15 minutes ...

50m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

...the moment you answer ONE rumor, you immediately call attention to the other rumors (no matter how ridiculous they are) by NOT responding!

51m Paul Heyman@HeymanHustle

It is amazing how many rumors are flying around. I don't like to address rumors. It lends credibility to them, and ...
