WWE SUMMERSLAM PPV 8/20 8PM ET - HHH V BROCK LESNAR | PUNK V CENA V SHOW P27

Nothing to see really, just him saying Brock vs HHH is going to be a good match. It better be, dammit.

Didn't everyone know that he was gonna be Brock's rep though?
A few days before Heyman returned, there were thoughts he may be involved in the handling/booking of Brock, but at the same time, no one thought he was going to be an onscreen character.  So his return was a pretty big surprise.

I am buying SummerSlam, its still real to me. As will be my standard activity prior to WWE PPV purchases I am on the fence about, I will go out and booze during the day which will lower my guilt to purchase.

Paying for PPVs! HA!

I'll be busy running the streamtube of NTSLAM LIVE FROM MY COMPUTER!

The post SummerFest RAW will be in my hometown. I might go but I don't like going unless I have ringside seats and I forgot to get them on the pre-sale date. Depending on how good the show is I might get cheap seats.

No, not at all.  The first thing WWE needs to do is stop living and dying by the 15 minute ratings breakdowns.  They're not competing against another wrestling show, so focus on putting a good product on TV rather than The Miz losing 400,000 viewers for his segment.

Then you need to start things from scratch and clearly identify lower, mid, and top tier talents.

You have lower tier guys feud with lower tier guys.  You have mid tier guys feud with mid tier guys.  You have top tier guys feud with top tier guys.  The difference is, the top tier guys don't wrestle each other on free TV except on rare occasions.  The lower tier guys will have their matches on shows like Superstars, NXT, and some Smackdown.  The mid card guys will be a main event on the smaller shows and largely focused on Smackdown and get some time on Raw.  Then on Raw, you have your top tier guys feud but not actually wrestle.  You have them remain top tier by beating the lower and mid tiers that have been built up on the other shows.  That way you save the top tier vs top tier matches only for PPV.

And when you want to elevate a lower tier guy, you have them beat a mid tier guy.  And when you want to elevate a mid tier guy, you have them beat a top tier guy.

I don't believe you can have jobbers on TV in 2012, but if you have different tier level "superstars," I think it would lead to interesting, entertaining TV, and help with making PPV's feel special.

This makes too much sense for WWE. Even though they followed this blueprint years ago.

I trust in HeymanGod but I don't how much he's been allowed to input on this storyline. I'm going to guess not much because of how terrible it has been but I will say he has me a lil bit more interested in the match. We'll see.

The only thing that would excite me is if Punk retains the title, HHH puts Brock over clean, and Punk and Brock start a 2012 version of the two man power trip :x

If anyone has serious interest in booking one of these travel packages, get in touch with me either through here in a DM or through email at [email protected].

I need to research the packages more (and I will do that tomorrow), but I'm not looking to buy one of the "top" packages.  I know I won't be sitting ringside, so I'd most likely be happy with the Silver package, though I may be talked into the Gold.  Prices go down based on the more people you have to book.
SIlver pack. is where I draw the line

It's sad that a non-controversial twitter rant by Paul Heyman got me more excited for the HHH/Brock match than anything they've done on TV.  I just pictured him yelling it into a camera ECW style and now I want to see it.

ill be good as long as they give Jericho/Ziggs enough time. im talking 12+ minutes, even with a nine-match card.

- PWInsider reports that WWE recently signed the son of Mexican legend Dos Caras and the younger brother of Alberto Del Rio – Guillermo Rodriguez. Guillermo is now appearing in WWE developmental as Memo Montenegro. He had been training in Florida with Pablo Marquez preparing for a deal from WWE earlier this year.

- John Laurinaitis has been told that he will be returning to WWE TV soon as some kind of an Executive Vice President character.

- A lot of WWE’s recent recruiting has been in the direction of college football players who have good agility and are fans of pro wrestling.

- Some people who have worked closely with Triple H believe that when he gets more power in WWE, we will see more focus on the tag team division, putting the Divas division on the back-burner even more.

It should be noted that Triple H has never been high on women’s wrestling. While WWE has been adding new women to developmental as of late, most of the new recruits are men and not women. Since Laurinaitis has been out of power, the days of recruiting models from agencies seem to be over.

- As noted before, the 2013 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on April 6th from Madison Square Garden in New York City. There was some red tape WWE had to cut through because they made a deal with the state of New Jersey. All WrestleMania activities were supposed to take place in the East Rutherford, New Jersey area.

WWE wanted Bruno Sammartino for the 2013 Hall of Fame but that doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. Some names rumored for next year’s class would be Mick Foley, Kevin Nash and Bob Backlund.

WWE may make another play for The Ultimate Warrior also. People who have talked with Warrior believe he would be open to it but add that Warrior is almost impossible to do business with and it would be a big risk on WWE’s end because he could agree to be inducted and then change his mind.

- It appears TNA star Crimson has been sent back to TNA’s developmental program at Ohio Valley Wrestling. He made a surprise appearance at last night’s OVW show and defeated Randy Royal. Crimson cut a promo after the match, teasing more upcoming appearances and announced that the OVW Heavyweight Title is his #1 priority.

- TNA agent Al Snow has gained a lot of office power recently.

- Within TNA, there is a lot of resentment regarding Brooke Hogan and the position she has. When she first debuted, the feeling was that if she can help things and is good on camera, then all is fine. Now the feeling is that whatever reality TV show fame she had means nothing on Impact, she’s not over with fans and she’s just not a good talker in the role that has been given to her.

- Kenny King has indeed signed a contract with TNA. Mason Andrews, formerly known as Scorpio Sky, is rumored to have signed but he’s been denying the reports. The contracts are per-appearance deals and not weekly guarantees. TNA is signing new talents to beef up the X Division.

- Jeff Hardy’s contract with TNA expires in February 2013. Hardy, who is by far TNA’s top merchandise seller, is described by nearly everyone as having made an amazing turnaround and it’s said that he’s always clear-headed at the TNA shows.

For what it’s worth, some independent wrestling promoters have been told that dates with Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy would be able to be booked in February.

TNA Impact Wrestling will kick off tonight with Bully Ray. He revealed earlier today that he has “something to say” and will “prove his point.” Here is what he wrote on Twitter.

Bully Ray ?@REALBully5150
Main Event vs Hardy tonight. But I got sumthin to say @ the very beginnin of Impact. Gonna prove my point. #BULLYNATION

As with Lex Lugerm as with Bill Goldberg, those dudes usually do not respect the business. They need to go after folks that have whatever superhero look they are looking for but are historically fans of pro wrestling. Stay away from those athletes that you are trying to turn them into wrestlers.

- There's resentment for Brooke? She's not bringing anything valuable to Impact?

Spencer, Iowa WATCH OUT! TNA is coming to your town!

*cue picture of 30 people at TNA house show*

Cool. Good write up there.

Right now (or later whenever you feel like it) can you list the current tiers in your opinion.

Superstars
Cena
HHH

Etc.............

If you don't feel like it I understand.
Current tiers as I see them currently?  Or how I would rank guys if I was in charge?

It's everybody's favorite time of the week.....

4w starting a wrestling show an hour+ late!!!

I hope they put the focus back on Austin Aries as champ.  In the past month Aces and Eights, Claire Lynch, and the BFG Series have all been slated ahead of him.  He had so much momentum when he won the title, but it feels like they really dropped the ball with him.
