WWE SUMMERSLAM PPV 8/20 8PM ET - HHH V BROCK LESNAR | PUNK V CENA V SHOW P27

I see alot of people on forums complain about Linda's campaign being the only reason WWE is PG.

Think people forget that WWE working with Mattel is a big reason too.

Linda's campagin or not...PG is here to stay as long as WWE stays with Mattel.

WWE just signed a big deal with Warner Bros also to make some Scooby Doo movies with WWE superstars too.

PG Rating is bringing the WWE a lot of money so it no point in ending it anytime soon.

They just need better writers.

It's possible to put on amazing shows with a PG rating, just look at Summer of Punk last year for example.

They need less writers and less Vince/Stephanie involvement.  Too many cooks in the kitchen.

Hell, I'll get on the Andre bandwagon.

is there a summerslam prediction contest coming? sorry if someone already asked/answered.

WWE has not promoted Charlie Sheen for Summerslam because right now they don't know if he is going to show up or not.  They are hoping he will be at the show, and if he is, they will feature him onto the PPV.

That's not true. Their stock continues to dip and revenue continues to dip. If anything its about maintaining a good image post-Benoit.

Would I like a return to more mature programming? Yes. However, its almost impossible because of how politically correct we've become. There'd be a new controversy every week.

- At last word, the plan was for WWE Champion CM Punk vs. John Cena vs. Big Show to close Sunday’s SummerSlam pay-per-view. There has been discussion of putting the title on Cena and doing Cena vs. The Rock at the Royal Rumble followed by Punk vs. Rock at WrestleMania 29. However, it’s speculated that WWE will end up going with Cena vs. Rock II at WrestleMania.

With Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar not scheduled to main event, that could suggest that Lesnar is winning. There may be the feeling there that Lesnar needs a win after losing to Cena a few months back.

- Following last night’s SummerSlam kickoff party in Beverly Hills, WWE talent will be taking part in various community service activities today, with wrestlers visiting hospitals in the Los Angeles area and anti-bullying rallies taking place at schools. Mark Henry and Alberto Del Rio will be visiting Watts, a part of South Los Angeles known to be a violence-prone and impoverished area.

- WWE recently sent out a memo to fans asking for ideas for Classics On Demand in 2013. Since WWE won’t be launching the WWE Network until after Classics on Demand concludes, that’s another sign the Network won’t be launching this year.

- We noted before that independent wrestling star Scorpio Sky had signed with TNA but then he denied those reports. The reason he has not signed with TNA yet is because he’s scheduled to attend the big post-SummerSlam tryout camp that WWE is holding next week.

- Some fans wondered about WWE not including two of their biggest stars – CM Punk and Sheamus – in the new Scooby Doo movie that they are releasing in 2014. PWInsider speculates that this may be a sign neither Punk or Sheamus is signed to a contract through that year. In the past, WWE has been against putting talents in projects that would come out after their deals are up.

- PWInsider confirms that there was a recent settlement between WWE and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) which allows WWE to use their old WWF logo on footage. WWE made some kind of payment to the World Wildlife Fund. WWE is allowed to use the WWF logo and say WWF over footage as long as it is old footage. For example, WWE couldn’t have a Legend come out on RAW next week, cut a promo and talk about how he used to hold the WWF Title and wrestle on WWF pay-per-views.

- After the recent angles on RAW with Brock Lesnar and Triple H, there has been a lot of speculation about Shawn Michaels coming out of retirement and wrestling another match against either Lesnar or Triple H. Sources report that there are no plans and no talks going on about Shawn wrestling. He is just working the angle to help WWE.

- There was a lot of sympathy over AW getting fired last week but after his series of tweets and media interviews, nobody in the company is willing to go to bat for him anymore.

The stock price doesn't have anything to do with being PG.  Stock prices nearly doubled from early 2009 to mid 2010.  WWE was well into the PG era at that time.  The current low prices have a lot to do with the uncertainty of The Network (WWE took out a $200 million loan to finance it) and the 66% cut in the quarterly dividend.

If you take out WWE's failing movie division, they actually do quite well.  That is the main reason for their declining revenue.  That's why they are changing their movie model in late 2013.

Nothing is changing my mind that HHH/Brock is going on last and HHH is going over.

Folks keep sleeping on MLW Radio.
What you looked at the other episodes?

Yep I been listening for a while now.

But to be honest the show as gotten 100% better since they added Konnan as one of the main interviewers.

His stories and point of view on wrestling are always entertaining.

I think they had the camera go out for a reason, Shawn just doesn't want to take bumps anymore.

So I strongly doubt he's willing to go on with a full match with HHH or Bane Lesner.

:lol When keeping it real goes wrong.

damn, finally. Took a decade.

Agthekid - I just think that was for the backstage segment itself. no one REALLY wants to get thrown into a vehicle so that cut away to break gave them time to reposition vehicles etc etc.

And he took a BRUTAL F5 in the middle of the ring. Shawn is fine. He still works out on a lighter daily regimen. HHH has been pushing for that match with him. And they keep hinting TENSION between the two since Wrestlemania. I just think it comes down to talking to the Undertaker if he TRULY wants too wrestle again. He respects the Undertaker and the decision to have him do the final the match of his career. It is not like Flair where pretty much everyone knew he would itch again. (Yet WWE still did the ceremony anyway......)

It makes for an interesting scenario though especially the comments Taker made to the fan a few weeks back at FCW about possibly not wrestling at this year's Mania. (Fan said he watches Mania every year for the sole purpose of seeing him wrestle and Taker replied that "This year you might be disappointed then."

Have taker involved in HHH vs HBK making Taker the mouthpiece saying "The reason the two of them came after him was do to there reluctance to battle each other. Not saying this is going to happen but just the sole idea IF HBK had an itch to comeback. Only way I could see HBK come back like that to wrestle if it was involving Taker and HHH again.

So does this mean they will unblur all the WWF logos on my Rock, Austin, Undertaker, Jericho, HBK, and Best of Ladder Matches dvds?

And yea, it's definitely possible to have a quality engaging PG show, but you can't have lazy writers nor hypocrisy while doing that. If I ever hear something similar to "JBL IS POOPY" again, I'll lose it.

AW said that if the bridge is burned then those bridges weren't the best bridges. And that's not true that no one in the company is going to bat for him. CM Punk has become a bit vocal regarding it. As Washington said, if he was a draw like the Big Show there wouldn't have been any repercussions. They've gone as far as confiscating pro-AW signs at Raw events. They can't silence Twitter or Facebook where at one point #wewantAW trended worldwide. Although the IWC is a very small minority, they spend money too by purchasing awful PPVs every month among other things. Fans who are spending their hard earned money on a sub par promotion company should be entitled to support whoever they want to.

What else can I say... JTG just got did in for his disrespect to his masters.. #IAintOnThePlantation
He's clearly not worried about being rehired by the WWE. This is honestly a fresh breath of air. People who've been canned by the WWE are too afraid to speak on how they feel about the workings backstage.
The stock price doesn't have anything to do with being PG.
Never said that.

And to clear the air, I don't care about whether the WWE is PG or not. However, I do care that the direction that they want to head in has directed the overall product. Bad writing has been synonymous with this era with the exception of a few moments.
Exclusive: WWE Institutes New Rule Concerning Matches Taped For Saturday Morning Slam
by
According to several high level sources within WWE, the new Saturday Morning Slam show, set to debut on the CW Network on August 25th, will carry an interesting, unspoken match rule due to the fact that the show is geared towards children.

WZ has learned that the matches taped for Saturday Morning Slam are not to feature moves aimed at the neck, which would include anything from a simple headlock to an RKO.

At this point the feeling is that moves performed to the neck might come off as too violent, so WWE is avoiding any type of offense that gives the appearance of "snapping" or targeting the neck area.

It remains to be seen if this is a rule WWE will adhere to long term, but it's being said that the first match taped for Slam, which took place at this week's Smackdown taping, did not feature any offense aimed at the neck.
