Forza Horizon 3 needs to keep dropping in price.

Not feeling the $39.99 price right now.

Just recently got an Xbox one, what games do you guys recommend. Havent been a gamer since ps2. Wanted to try out the new infinate war but As blakeep267 ista not good rethinking of buying. Any other suggestions?
Never been a greater time to be a gamer.

With xb1, you get backwards compatiable games.

Some games listed were originally xbox 360 games, which came out after ps2.

Quick List: Forza Horizon 3, Mad Max, and The Walking Dead.

Now...Long List.

Racing:

Forza Horizon 3: Highest rated open-world arcade racer of this generation. There's a plentiful variety of objectives(co-op, road trip, non-racing events, street races, off-road races, special events, point based objectives, bucket list objectives). The game has 415 roads and the soundtrack is fire.

Action/Adventure:

Mad Max: It's explosive, brutal, and relentless. There's a variety of tasks to complete. The car combat is executed really well and combat takedowns are satisfying.

Dishonored: Very unique stealth-based game. The combat and level design is innovative.

GTA V: It's GTA haha.

Red Dead Redemption: GTA in the wild west. Very story driven with a fleshed out open-world.

Far Cry 4: Open-world shooter with wingsuiting.

Rise of the Tomb Raider: Story driven action movie type game.

Tomb Raider: Story driven action movie type game.

Batman Arkham Knight: stellar combat with a creative narrative

Just Cause 3: Shoot and destroy everything. Fly/sail/drive anywhere. Best explosions in any game to date.

Sunset Overdrive: Tony Hawk Pro-Skater meets third-person-shooter.

Resident Evil 4 or 5 or 6: One of the best third person shooter franchises.

Bayonetta: One of the best hack n' slash games to drop last gen.

DmC: One of the best hack n' slash games to drop last gen.

Return to Arkham: These games originated "arkham combat" which a slew of games try to emulate. Games with good story/combat.

RPG:

Dark Souls 3: Difficult, but rewarding game. Variety of combat classes. Boss encounters are the main highlight of the game.

Mass Effect 1-2: Story driven. The writing and side characters are excellent.

Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls: Best duegon crawler to date. There's 6 classes to choose from, which are each very different. The combat loop is fun/creative.

Dying Light the following: Zombie game with a variety of melee/weapon combat. You can parkour around the open world and decapitate zombies.

Fighting:

Tekken Tag 2: Best fighting game to date imo. Variety of modes. Online play is still solid and about 40 characters. It's a difficult game to master.

Sports:

Skate 3: The best sports game to date. The skating is realistic and very rewarding.

Shooters:

Halo 5: The online can be exhilating with game modes like swat.

Halo Master Chief Collection: 40 hours worth of single player content and each game has their own online mode. It's $10~ at cdkeys.com

Battlefield 4: It's a shooter that knows what it is and does it well.

Borderlands Handsome Collection: The best Shooter RPG. The comedic writing is pretty smart.

Call of Duty 2: The campaign mode is excellent and still holds up.

Titanfall: My fav. online shooter. The titan combat is innovative. As a pilot you parkour around the map while titans act as fun-to-drive tanks.

Gears of War Ultimate Edition: The best third-person-shooter out there. The way you move and shoot feels excellent and the campaign mode makes you feel like a badass.

Plants vs Zombies 2: The most innovative class-based third person shooter this generation. There's 12~ different classes to pick from.

Bioshock Collection: One of the best story driven shooter franchises out there.

Platformers:

Rayman Origins/Legends: This game can give you your mario fix. There's a variety of challenges or ways to replay levels, so the game doesn't get too repetitive.

Mirror's Edge: Innovative FPS, which is focused around parkour.

Indies:

State of Decay: If you've ever wondered how you'd fare on the walking dead show, this game answers that question for you. You're Rick Grimes and you have to manage a group of survivors and become a force to be reckoned with.

Peggle 2: Best game to play when you don't know what you want to play

The Walking Dead Season 1-2: Story driven game based on TWD. You play as a black guy, which is innovative enough.

Since you missed a whole generation of console gaming some of the remasters out there are worth playing for the first time experience. Skyrim, Borderlands, Bioshock and Batman are probably my favorite from the remaster bunch.
Battlefield 1 is a GREAT shooter.
Forza Horizon if you enjoy racers.
Overwatch is a VERY fun online multiplayer shooter, lots of variety in characters and what they can do.
Doom is a fun arcade shooter
The Witcher 3 is a MUST PLAY.
Grand Theft Auto 5, because GTA.
Shadow of Mordor is a solid *** play, especially if you're into Lord of the Rings at all.
Both Tomb Raider games for the console are very well done as well.
Dark Souls if you can handle dying a lot.

dark souks isn't hard, just people don't take time to read an enemy and expect to rush in a fight. thinkin they're top gun cuz they beat other games that held their hand the whole way through

Dude hasn't played a game since PS2 Dark Souls might be hard for him :lol

Takes a lot of patience to play Dark Souls.

Patience I don't have.

I understand.

It takes 40h on average to complete any of the darks souls games.
The game length isn't the issue, it was too much trial and error for me considering you have to study enemy's attack patterns and time your offense accordingly.

Only played DS 1 for like 2 hours before I said **** it.  If I'm ever to try another one again, it'll be Bloodborne.

lack of imagination, too many sequels and remasters. performance and graphics are that of pc from 7 years ago
All valid points, but by a console's design that's bound to happen.

Sequels/remasters keep the lights on.

Lack of imagination: Games cost more to develop.

Graphics point could be addressed by scorpio.

Either way, I think you're points could steer you to PC.

The remaster BS is def. a reason why I copped a PC.

Your games get "remastered" for free on pc, given you fork the cash for the hardware.

So right now, I'm enjoying FH3 in 1080p, but it'll be "remastered" once I can afford to upgrade to 4k.

I see.

It took me 5 hours to get into bloodbourne, which was my first souls game.

Speaking of which,...my bloodbourne experience.

If I could do it, you can do it.

yea sad when big news is that we can now get lay old games cuz there isn't much to play. just frustrating, it's easier to use console but the pc I built is starting to age and that's a couple grand id have to save to build another.
next year seems promising for games tho so we'll see

I disagree I have a ton of games to play. I'm a huge fan of the indie game scene so I'm always trying new stuff. The AAA stuff has been lackluster besides a few titles imo

lack of good AAA and overabundance of crap indie games.
