I don't get this 'single player games have no replay value' thought that's been pushed in this thread. Now multiplayer games no doubt have more immediate replay value than single player games, no arguing that. But you dudes are acting like once you play a single player game once you'll never touch it again.

A good single player game can be timeless, a multiplayer game will be fun for 6 months until the next FPS comes out.

I've gone through TLOU 4 times the past 8 months. Gone through the entire Mass Effect trilogy over a dozen times combined. Went through MGS4 multiple times.

I go through the Kotor series at least once a year, same with the Metal Gear Solid series. I can still pick up Ico, Super Mario 64, Orcania Of Time, FF10, or one of the Metroid Prime games and enjoy myself as if the game just came out. What multiplayer games from the PS1/N64 era are people still playing today? Heck, what multiplayer games from 4 years ago do you feel you still have to play?

Again, by no means am I arguing Single player games replay value >>>>> Multiplayer games. But to act like Single players games have no replay value, is not true.

Well then you're in the minority because most people I knew when I was young growing up played through a game and finished it that was it.

The single player game I can think of that I had so much fun playing after I ended it was all the Grand Theft Auto's for PS2 but it was just goofing off and trying to do jumps and eluding cops with the full stars and other nonsense, and Zelda Link to the past and Ocarina of Time to collect all items and heart containers :hat

You must have really liked those games to continuously go back and replay them like that, but I'm older now and don't have that type of time on my hands to do something like that... and even if I did I don't think I would be compelled to do so nah... I mean I would fool around in MGS 1 after I ended it and hide in the box and follow guards and knock on lockers or something, but to do what you did/do still to this day nah... more power to you though.

Edit - Man I gotta chill with the posting :lol I'm trying to save my 10K post for something special on here like my collection post before I sell everything off and I keep getting pulled into post :lol It's funny before I couldn't find nothing to post about and always wondered when I would make it up to this number now I'm trying to hold backa and now is when I get the itch the most to post :{

I've never once gone back to play a single player game after completing it either.

I have put hundreds of hours in each cod game up until blops :lol

And maybe thousands into halo :o

Don't have the time to play it much these days but mp > single player when it comes to replay value

pretty much. Unless were talking about rpgs, skyrim etc. I never really even bother buying singleplayer games (gamefly all day). Did I like tomb raider, bioshock etc? Of course, but MP focused games will always be where my heart is. Thats why I was pretty dissapointed when I heard the Order wouldnt have any mp or coop.

Anyway, zoo tycoon is 40 on xbox.com. Last week was ryse, looks like theyre going down the line of launch stuff

Im the same as Blackboyfly. Ive been through a ton of games more than once. I think it stems from being a kid and only having your parents buy you the odd game. You'd play the crap out of it.

I replay single player games all the time if I like them enough. And I habitually beat FF X at least once a year.

I might get Strider this weekend. I was pretty stoked they decided to make a new Strider game.

Did anyone buy strider ? Was thinking of copping
I copped Strider and Max the Curse of the Brotherhood.

Strider is okay so far. I've maybe played 30 minutes so far.

I enjoyed Max a million times more and probably 80% done so far. I'm a big fan of strider from back in the day on Genesis and on Marvel vs Capcom 2

You guys rocking with the PDP mount for your Kinect?

Ya bro it's a good buy for $20. Def recommend it if there is a place that has them in stock around you.

Also just copped a second controller from GS for $35 off the reward points I earned from buying the One from their :hat

Not close to what Sony is offering on the + side, but if this is any indication, it's moving in the right direction. Both games are old, but they are both really good.

Games With Gold March 2014: Civilization Revolution, Dungeon Defenders
Great strategy and co-op games are free this month for Xbox Live Gold members.
by Kyle England FEBRUARY 28, 2014
The two games that will be free to download in March on Xbox 360 are Civilization Revolution and Dungeon Defenders, Microsoft has announced.

Beginning tomorrow on March 1, Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution will be knocked down from its regular price of $30 and will be free to download until March 15. Civilization Revolution is an older title from 2008, but it is a great console strategy game. It earned 8.8 in IGN's review when it released.

Starting on March 16, Civilization Revolution will return to normal price and Dungeon Defenders shall take its place, dropping from $14.99 and remaining free through the end of March. Dungeon Defenders launched in 2011 for the Xbox Live Arcade, and it's an incredibly addictive multiplayer tower defense action game. It scored 8.5 in IGN's review.

Keep in mind that only Xbox Live Gold subscribers on Xbox 360 will be able to download these games. If the games are downloaded during the two-week free periods, players can keep and play them forever, whether they remain Gold members or not. Sit tight, Xbox One owners-- Games With Gold is coming to the platform sometime before 2014 ends.
Every month of GwG is even more disappointing that the last.

I have gold till 2016.

I think a distinction needs to be made. RPGs and games that are able to offer different paths, of course playing them more than once is needed. But something like tomb raider, bioshock, uncharted etc to me is pointless. Because you're going to get the same 8-10 hour experiece more or less, IMO.

Why you guys even bother with going back and forth with dude is beyond me.

Dude's skin is probably made of salt how much he despises MS and loathes Sony even though neither knows of your existence nor cares about him :{

But you know them PS boys go hard for their console like Sony is cutting them a check or something.

He's still super butthurt that MS pulled Titanfall only to XB1, but I bet if it's the other way around or PS gets a super exclusive like Metal Gear or some crap then they're not evil nope they're not trying to take over the world.

Also, to say don't buy a system over a game you want to play is nonsense... that's what you want to play so buy the system and play it.

From look at Chris Smoove walkthrough of last of us I thought the game looked dope and wanted to play it, but it's a single player experience meaning it's not going to have much replay after you end it unless they drop DLC. Did I cry and go on a campaign pouting that people shouldn't buy a PS wait and see maybe Last of Us 2 might come out on 360 or XB1. I just knew that it didn't make sense to spend whatever a PS3 cost to play one game and then once it's done I wouldn't want to play it anymore.

@amaranoTo the OP I say Titanfall is most definitely worth the purchase of the XB1 bar none because look at the rave reviews it go on NT and you know we nitpick each and everything. Also, keep in mind you're going to have infinite amount of replay time with this game and you're probably going to be playing it over and over again. You play a game with a good single player experience then once you beat it it's not much else left for it.

With an FPS game the playback is limitless... even though the PS had good single player games last gen if you look at what was most played it was COD and other FPS games, and Xbox is flat out made and plays better when it comes to FPS games... look at MLG events all they rock with is MS consoles and the one time they tried PS3 is bombed and sucked... lag, response delay, and all the pros complained about it and now they're back to using only 360's or XB1.

If you can't or don't want both systems then sell the PS4 and get a XB1 and then if you don't like it or down the line you want to convert back then sell back the XB1 and get back a PS4 simple as that.

I just think it's better to buy a system with better multiplayer games with good online than it is for single player games because the replay for FPS and other mulitplayer games is endless where single player once you beat it then you're done with it. Not saying PS4 doesn't or won't have good multiplayer or FPS games, but that's sort of MS niche most in here say
.

I played it all on the 360. It was a great system. I liked it quite a bit. (I was not trying to get achievements except for halo 3 and super meat boy)

You wanna say I'm a Sony fanboy and my opinion doesn't matter, fine. It's just flat out not true. I don't know why you have to go there, it just shows your own bias when anything other than complete support for MS is deemed fanboyism. I mean, do you not see the hypocrisy?

I'll play games on any systems, it's what I like to do. I don't deem the Xbone a worthy system right now for a number of reasons, therefore when someone ask in this thread about getting one I chime in with a "no, it's not worth it" It's not out of some stupid loyalty to Sony. I want to see more out of MS before i pay up for this system, something beyond paying for the first best game on either console to only come to the xbone.
