Your Next Vacation Destination.....?

Doing a SMALL road trip for Spring BReak. Richmond/Charlotte.

Which neighborhoods are worth staying in while in "RVA"
Man…this is a loaded question. I live in Richmond…have my whole life. I recommend the downtown area…either stay at the Omni or Hilton downtown; quirk hotel or the Jefferson if money ain’t a thing. Check out the Scott’s Addition area and the Fan/Carytown area. The VMFA (we have the kehinde Wiley Rumors of War statue outside) is dope as well. To eat…try Lillie Pearl, Lunch Supper, Rappahannock, or ZZQ.

Thanks V VeeAhy

Somebody told me, "The Fan" was a nice area to stay in.
I was also told it was close to the James River.

I will probably do an Air BnB.

How far is "The Fan" from downtown.

Yea, I will probably just be there for 1.5 days so I wouldn't have MUCH time to see "everything."

But I plan on going back and exploring later in the summer for sure.

Thanks again man.

Going to Texas in May. Planning an extended vacation to Miami in July. Meanwhile, I'm frequenting the gym daily. A beach body is a must. No exceptions.

Any recs for Aruba??

What do you need, fam? Locations? Hotels? Food?

If you’re wanting to be near the Flamingo Beach, stay at the Renaissance or any other near Palm Beach or outside Oranjestad. It’s where the high end stores (Gucci, Prada, a Casino) and part of biggest tourist location in Aruba. It’s their version of boardwalk.

I stayed near Savaneta, more private and away from the tourist area (listed above). They have amazing restaurants next to these places - walking distance. Serene by the Sea is a hotel owned by a family and on the coral reef. Had a chef cook every night. The more exclusive place is next door, Aruba Ocean Villas. They were doing construction 2 years ago for expansion, so I’m sure they’re done. These hotels share a private beach. You’ll see turtles in the sun rise, you can use the kayaks, or even grill (we had a party with the locals that work at these hotels. They brought fresh fish they caught fishing and charcoal for the grill, I brought the veggies and drinks.

The restaurants next to them that i went to are Flying Fishbone and Zeerover (fresh seafood off the boat and you pick it - they cook it how you want on the spot - seating is out on the dock of the water)

If you rent a car, get the smallest car there is. Unless you’re planning to drive out to the ruins and natural bridge and spend time off roading, then get a 4x4 Jeep. It’s very rocky out there.

You can see all of the island in about 2-3 hours round trip.

You can scuba dive (LionFish is huge there - so be careful) , play golf, wind surf, visit the Bushiribana Ruin, and hike the natural bridge and springs (you don’t need a guide), take a boat to Flamingo island to kick it with the flamingos.

The better beaches are north of Aruba, south of Aruba is more windy and a little dirty with all the aloe/seaweeds.

Make sure to stop here to eat - located at a dead end street and don’t be alarm about the area. You’ll see a little shack/stand in the complex by the entrance. It’s a scuba diving place and a house in the same complex. The chef cooks the food fresh at that moment.

How many nights do you recommend Going with the wife and kid.

Any recommendations for Tulum and Cancun? Especially great spots for food? Or any nice resorts that have day passes?

Not sure where you're staying but everytime I have gone to Cancun I have stayed in All Inclusive and the food has been amazing.

From most recent Riu to my 1st time Omni.

Street vendors are hit or miss. Tulumn is really up and coming and modern full a bunch of colonizers so yiu will find good food .... same thing with Playa del Carmen.

I’m doing 7 days in Brazil.
I’d like to do Sao Paolo and Rio.
Which should I do 4 days?
Which should I do 3?
Any help is appreciated

I did the same trip. Just spend 2 days in São Paola. It’s a metropolitan city. (If you’re into city life, then stay longer). Just get to Rio.

Rio C.Magneto C.Magneto can list some places. The fun begins there. Lots of history and so much to do.

Just keep the chain tuck. Don’t bring flashy stuff to the favelas - you’ll get stuck up.

In fact if you want my guide. He lives in the biggest favelas in Rio - he does other tours - stand up guy. He can get you whatever you want.
