I did a bit more research, and apparently you can't record through the mic input without getting distortion. You're going to need to buy an external USB soundcard. I've heard good things about the ESI Maya44 USB.

I'm also planning to use Serato on my macbook. I've done some research on recording mixes and stuff, and I don't think you can record using Serato. You can record mixes using programs like Audacity and Garageband. I've also heard that its a bad idea to record by plugging into your mic input. I...
