We can't afford to play with 2 forwards against any team with a decent midfield. We'd essentially be playing with 10 men. We don't have that type of creativity/talent in the midfield to do that.

Nah. Real didn't "want it more". Atletico were more gassed because they have a much more intense, aggressive style of play than Real. Over 90 minutes they're fine, but over 120 it's a different story when you play that relentless, pressing style of football that Atletico plays. Real likes to...

First of all...Serie A is just as physical as the EPL. If not more. 2nd...have you actually watched him play? He has the build of a Yaya Toure and is very physical. He'll be fine. He's a physical midfielder not some finesse attacking player like Ozil.

What does a striker have to do with reinforcing our midfield?  We need somebody to play alongside Matic just as much as we need a striker.  Modric, Kroos, Vidal, Pogba, or Javi Martinez would be ideal.

No. I love watching Brazil play. But let's be real here. None of their mids/attackers would start for Spain, Germany, or Argentina. Best player is Neymar, who wouldn't even start for Germany or Spain.  They play well together but they don't have the elite world class talent the other countries...

If Costa is healthy, Spain is winning it all. But if he's not Del Bosque will go back to the tiki taka false 9 BS and they'll get knocked out around the semis. If not Spain, then Germany...but only if Khedira, Bastian, etc can get healthy again. Injuries the only thing holding them back IMO...
