same thing happened to me, pulled/strained something on the eccentric of a deadlift. never went to see a doctor or chiro, but i should have. lower back pain was the worst sitting long periods of times in class. this is what i did
-foam rolled back and lower body everyday
-stretch lower body...
do you do deadlifts/squats? i pulled something doing deads a little bit ago, and i literally had a snapped up back, sitting on a chair was painful. since then i've worked a lot on lower body flexibility/mobility especially for my hamstrings/hips/glutes. i've also switched to sumo deadlifts it...
your strength shouldn't be affected that much. how much carbs are you taking in?? i would still take in enough carbs to fuel workouts and ensure minimal strength loss. also maybe lower the volume of your workouts so you can recover more easily.
^ change the order of your exercises, venture into different rep ranges, drop sets, incorporating new exercises. do you do standing barbell shoulder press? great exercise, so much different than doing shoulders sitting down.
i picked up jack3d micro yesterday and wasn't really impressed after my shoulder workout. 5/3/1 style workout btw.

other guys aren't going to care. just wear comfortable clothes. if wearing tank tops give you confidence, then that's a plus.

who else follows the "youtube fitness community" ?? like tmw, matt ogus, physiques of greatness, campbellfitness, luimarco, etc. i honestly feel that just by watching their videos, my fitness/bodybuilding knowledge has tripled, even if some of their stuff is considered broscience.
oh yeah and...
are you doing them cross armed or in a front rack position?? i sorta hurt my shoulder using a crossed arm form. either way, make sure the bar is resting on your front delts and keep your elbows up throughout the squat.
