The acting at the hospital was top-notch. Woody's emotions from Maggie and his daughters visiting him was amazing. Then the last scene (leading in to one last amazing music choice).
The show went out on its strengths. It was not about the killer or the cult or the children being hurt by it, but the two men investigating it that were played by some incredible actors.
I am not disappointed at all. I feel like the cult and their beliefs could've been played up more (instead of turning Errol into basically the big bad of the series). The photos and tape were so creepy, I felt it would've had an effect for guys in animal masks to show up. But oh well.
And at the end, they showed various shots including the tree before the last scene... I def thought Marty was gonna carry Rust there and set the field on fire for some reason, but it never came
Edit: thinking about it, the first scene has Errol carrying a dead body; the last has Marty carrying Rust on to the rest of his life.
