1) Mbappe was best player in the park on Tuesday, but except for a bit of magic right at the end, that game ends nil-nil and the whole narrative changes. KM's head hasn't been turned, by Liverpool or anything else.

2) Everyone knew at the start of the season Ancelotti was a stopgap for (presumably) Poch. He had no assurances going into the job that FloPe would keep him for more than one season, and everyone assumed he'd be out regardless of results. Florentino is reaching for reasons to sack him despite his team's performances having been generally better than anticipated going into the season. FloPe needs the narrative to line up with the decision he's already made.

PSG need a domestic rival. They need their own version of a RM/Barça.

Why some billionaire hasn’t gone for Marseille is beyond me. Great rivalry, great fans, great city, beautiful location. It’s right there for someone.

Instead they want to buy teams in dreary Northern England every couple years.

French taxes when it comes to football is high. As a billionaire, you've years dodging taxes and avoiding paying your just due. Why would you now want to do it?
