There isn't an average to above average starting PG in the league today or the past 20 years I would take Bob Cousy over with all due disrespect.

That is because you are looking at him through modern glasses.

When using time travel based basketball experiments, you have to adjust said player for the time period. (Which is supreme guesswork).

This is why cross-era, comparisons, especially with someone that played 50 years ago, is wild as hell.

It’s never the what, but the how. Winning a championship in the NBA is always the ultimate goal. Trying to act like there’s anything else to it is diminishing the competitive spirit of the sport. Conversely, stacking the deck is diminishing the competitive spirit as well. It’s all about confidence in your ability to deliver no matter what gets thrown your way. That’s why Mike is and forever will be the standard for the sport.
The problem with this logic, particularly the bolded, is that you’re acting like Jordan carried stockbrokers and plumbers to six championships. He had two other HOFers, elite role players and arguably the greatest head coach of all-time. His deck is as stacked but it was just accumulated differently which is what people have been adjusting to over the past decade.

Those HOFers, elite role players and Phil Jackson all accumulated their success off Michael Jordan’s back, not the other way around. They were introduced to Michael and he carried them to heights unimaginable. We can act like we knew and cared who Dennis Rodman was before he beat Michael Jordan in the playoffs or that Phil Jackson wasn’t a first year head coach 2 years after Michael Jordan won MVP, scoring champ and DPOY all in the same year but the fact still remains, there is a reason why Mike is the standard

The same way Bron took Wade, Bosh, Myrie, KLove, AD and Vogel to new levels? The same way Kobe took Pau, LO, Bynum and others to new levels? My argument was never that Jordan wasn’t the driving force behind those rings. You’re making it seem like Jordan played with 2007 Cavs level talent. Just say your problem is with how the modern day super teams came together in comparison to pre-2010 championship/super teams.

That’s the only reason anyone has a problem with this stuff

I mean Bron did take Myrie and Bosh to new levels ( them playing in their ideal role)

Just saying lol

I vehemently disagree with his take but Stephen A kept it in bounds. He didn't attack Russ personally or say anything about his family. This is just a criticism that comes with being a professional athlete. like Russ mentioned, he's a winner at life and when it's all said and done he'll have earned well over $400m and impacted the lives of many

I saw Wade reach heights as the focal player on a championship winning team before Lebron did it to where Lebron needed to come to his team to learn how to win on a high level. I saw Mitch Kupchak do everything within the “rules” of the NBA to bring Kobe suitable pieces to win a championship on his own merits as opposed to being Robin to Shaq’s Batman...and make no mistake about it, Shaq was Batman. And even after all that I’ve still saw them lose on the biggest stage with everything given to them after the fact. Mike never did any of the aforementioned including lose on the biggest stage. You can say Reinsdorf and Co. were competent in the front office or what have you but again the fact still remains, Michael is the standard for a reason.
