 uptown girls gonna go crazy

Drake knows what he's doing man, ***** bout to have mad illegitimate children with them Dominican goddesses uptown this summer

After Macklemore and Ryan Lewis won Best New Artist and three trophies in the rap category at last month's Grammy Awards, the duo's mouthpiece tried to prove that he thought another nominee should have walked off with some golden hardware: "You got robbed," Macklemore texted Kendrick Lamar. "I wanted you to win."

The private message — which Macklemore made very public by posting it on Instagram — didn't strike everyone as generous. And in the new issue of Rolling Stone (on stands Friday), Drake makes it very clear he thought the message was unnecessary. To put it bluntly, he thought "that **** was wack as ****."

"I was like, 'You won. Why are you posting your text message? Just chill. Take your W, and if you feel you didn't deserve it, go get better — make better music,'" he tells us. "It felt cheap. It didn't feel genuine. Why do that? Why feel guilt? You think those guys would pay homage to you if they won?"

Drake notes that Grammy wins don't always go to the artist who made the best album. "This is how the world works: He made a brand of music that appealed to more people than me, Hov, Kanye and Kendrick. Whether people wanna say it's racial, or whether it's just the fact that he tapped into something we can't tap into. That's just how the cards fall. Own your ****."

And in the end, if Macklemore was going to start doling out apologies, he should have reached out to more nominees, Drake says. "To name just Kendrick? That **** made me feel funny. No, in that case, you robbed everybody. We all need text messages!"

maybe
but he has a point and i kinda agree

Only point I agree with is "why post it". Everything else sounds ***** made.

Especially the end with "we all need text messages". If Macklemore thought the Kendrick album should have won over his, and didn't feel the same way about Jay, Kanye, and Drake, that's his prerogative.

I also think Macklemore is cooler with Kendrick than the rest of them (just an assumption based on him being in the "Collard Greens" video and having Q on "White Walls". He seems to have some kind of relationship with at least Q or TDE), so in that sense, it would make more sense for him to text Kendrick and not the rest.

This **** is just as lame as what Mackelemore did IMO.

Drake is also off in his belief that the Grammys award based on mass appeal. The committee actually makes a point of NOT doing that.

It ain't like Daft Punk hit more people last year than Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars etc. They sold less records, had less hit singles and the whole 9 and still walked away with mad Grammys.

Like Drake said he should have kept those text messages to himself and enjoyed winning a Grammy. This is how the world works and should apologies to the others that did not win if he wants to give KL one.
