🦉The Official Drake Thread6️⃣ - Scary Hours 3 11.17.23

Man Drake been in NY @ MSG 4 nights in a row, Flex could roll up to the concert if he's really "respected" he must know people right?

If Drake told hot 97 he wants to do their show, you really think they gonna tell him no?

Lmao at Flex saying he doesnt have to play Drakes music as if he doesnt work for ratings

The notion that VIEWS is this year’s Purple Rain, or that Drake is “officially” as popular as Michael Jackson was during Thriller, or that Views is already one of the biggest hip-hop albums of all time? That’s nonsense. It is empirically, objectively untrue. VIEWS is a rather successful album that happens to have done obscene numbers in a closed-gated community whose total user base comprises less than five ******* percent of the country’s population. It’s the musical equivalent of a Lexus RX 350. Or a case of LaCroix seltzer. Or a pair of Beats headphones.

People were putting this clown up there with Prince and Mike?! What the hell happened to music

^ I have literally not seen that comparison been made ONCE prior to you posting that excerpt from that article

Drama took a hit for it though. People thought he was the one who leaked the reference tracks on some loyalty to Philly ****. Once that rumor got out there he didn't bother until later to speak up. I never understood why he didn't speak up, but maybe he didn't want to snitch.

Did anyone believe Drama when he said it or did they have their mind made up and didn't care?

Can you blame anyone if they did? When you sit in silence throughout the heart of that back and forth and let those rumors fester despite your name being right there in the mix of them, it would reasonably appear that the lines have been drawn and you've chosen your side. I can't speak for anyone else in terms of belief, but I would understand why people would've made up their minds and stopped caring a year later.

Plus it just sounds ridiculous whether true or false. This was like their 2nd or 3rd collaboration, and came after like 2-3 years and being all friendly and hugged up and **** and all of a sudden Meek and his crew were worried that Drake was talking **** about him on his own track? What?

Yall gotta stop this madness.

It was posted several times awhile after Views came out. A bunch of "Say bruhs we did it :smokin :smokin :smokin" type stuff

Maybe you misunderstood what I was referring to?

If not, "Say bruhs we did it :smokin :pimp:" doesn't equate to "Views is the modern day Purple Rain," or "Drake is as popular as Michael Jackson was during his 'Thriller' era" in the slightest

What the hell? They even waited a cool 2-3 months to let these fly

At least that Purple Rain one just seems like a sensationalized title to attract readers based on a quick skim through.

Actually, after clicking through a couple of the articles within the links, they're pretty much all just about how his Billboard #1 stretch compares to others. Nothing worth paying any attention to.

Flex is a clown but he's right. If people are writing **** for you you're not in the class with real rappers.

This was said almost verbatim in this thread, around the time people kept bringing up sales and charting info. So...yea

400

You got these joints on right now

He got white thong sandals from Old Navy on right now.

Anyone who thinks Drake wasn't affected by the Meek situation is buggin. He delivered that ghostwriting poison pill which will not affect his numbers or sales, but his respect as an MC has been tarnished forever.
