'09 COLLEGE FOOTBALL OFF-SEASON THREAD-recruiting/Coaching Changes/Transfers

There's some kind of buzz/rumor down here this morning about a UGA @ Michigan game to open 2010.

I would

because it's a Michigan home opener, but RichRod beat the brakes off dudes last time. (SMH @ that fake punt.)

UM fans, any word from up there?

and actually 3 point underdawgs isnt bad at FSU considering the public is going to ride FSU because of all the top 25 hype and stuff.....i can see this linedropping to -2 leading up to the game even w/ the public on FSU

Gunna...they're high on him because he's a workhorse type back. Not the fastest but he has good vision, and power. We're not offering because we've already got 2 power backs committed.

Does Hagens really count as a RB? I thought he was coming in as a FB. and out of all the RB's were going after i really just want Drake or Clements. I agree with you on the Gore part though.

I don't think Ogletree stays with the Dawgs. There was a lot of buzz about him ending up with Miami.
Well he's coming in as a FB. But I read he's been trying to lose weight and even got a speed coach so he might be trying to convert oreither be more of a running FB as opposed to blocking. Probably a Quadtrine Hill type player.

I don't really want Clements at all. Overrated to me and Lamar Miller and Mike James are definitely better. If he came I don't think he'd everstart here and he knows it. He's said before that he's not seriously considering Miami because of the depth chart. I'd couldn't care less if hewent somewhere else.

Hopefully Corvin Lamb will have a monster season and earn himself an offer. Kid can fly.

If the line remains there, hell yes.

while there still are huge holes in his game....Juice has gotten better ever year...That O should be pretty good this sesaon.

read about it this AM. I would be jacked if this happened. But I think it's all speculation at this point

Speaking of Brandon Gainer, dude is soft spoken as hell.

Just saw an interview w/ him.

And Teddy Bridgewater has a new vid out.

Hopefully he's going on these visits to recruit for us. Thought he was as solid a commit as one could be. Urban's known him since he was 8 - coachedhis brother at ND. Like to see what we're up against though on the other visits.

Also hearing that there is a good chance we drop Dorsey's offer on FNL since he doesn't seem to be that strong of a 'commit' andwe may get a db pledge from someone else. That 4.25 40 though.
ohwell.gif

Dre, you guys could pull a monster class this year. LJ, Willis, Corey Miller, Lattimore, Christian Jones, De'J Johnson, Cummings ... and if you guys beatus for the Greens too.
eek.gif
Could/should be FSU's best class in years, maybe ever.

Football: Former Armwood star Justin Cabbagestalk faces felony charge

09036373 Former Armwood star Justin Cabbagestalk was arrested Tuesday night and charged with a felony count of burglary of an unoccupied dwelling and amisdemeanor charge of criminal mischief. He was released on a bond early Wednesday morning.

According to Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Debbie Carter, Cabbagestalk, 18, and three juveniles entered a home Tuesday night onParkcrest Drive in Tampa at about 7 p.m. They gained entry through an unlocked screen porch door, then broke a kitchen window to enter the home. They exitedthrough the front door and were observed by a witness, who called police.

"It appears as though nothing was taken," Carter said.

Cabbagestalk, a 6-foot-4, 275 pound lineman, signed a letter of intent in February to play football at Vanderbilt this fall. He becomes the second of Armwood's nine signees to face burglary charges.

In April, former teammate Angelo Hadley was charged with third-degree grand theft, grand theft of a firearm and armed burglary of a dwelling with firearmpossession, all third-degree felonies. Soon afterward his scholarship to North Carolina was pulled.

Hadley has entered a plea of not guilty with his next hearing scheduled for September.

"(Vanderbilt) coach (Bobby) Johnson and the staff have been notified of the case and will withhold official comment until more facts are known,"Vanderbilt spokesman Larry Leathers said Wednesday morning.

Ehhhh, 4.25's aren't anything. He's very raw. Plus, look at a kid like Janoris. Touching no parts of a 4.2 but is as solid as theycome.

We're not getting both the Green's. I believe Chaz will go to UF and Christian to FSU

As for who we're strong with, I'd add: Brandon Gainer, J. Godfrey, Telvin Smith, Terrence Mitchell, Terrance Brooks (Though that could change easily ifUF offers as he is from Dunellon), Scooter Haggins, Kenny Shaw. These two kids DT's out of Louisiana (can't remember their names) that we look good forat the moment as well. I'm hoping that Jones, Green, Scooter, LJ, etc the really strong leans go ahead and commit and get it out the way.

To a lesser extent I'd add Gio Bernard and Jeff Luc. I truly think it's a two headed race for Luc between UF and FSU however I think that in the endCharlie Strong and the gates MAY win out. And we can't even play the "Well, he's not going to be there next year/He's gonna be a HC" cardbecause this is probably the last year for The Chest and Mickey Andrews.

As for Riggs, ND is 3rd for his services I believe. Behind UF and Jawja.

yeah it's in the dome. But once you're not at home i dont really care about fan support.

I think Illinois quite a bit this year regardless and I don't see much on the Mizzou side of things

Lane Kiffin has made a commitment to recruit the state of Florida with the same passion as he recruits every other state in the country.

Ace recruiter and special teams coordinator Eddie Gran pulled off a recruiting coup Thursday evening when the No. 1 place kicker in the country and Scout.com four star prospect Mike Palardy chose to play football at Rocky Top.

Palardy became the No. 12 commitment for Kiffin's 2010 recruiting class. He chose the Volunteers over LSU.

With 13 official offers in hand, Palardy decided to stay closer to home and has always wanted to play in the SEC and in the South.

"I'm a southern boy at heart," Palardy explained. "The SEC is best conference in the country, there is no better football played anywhere."

Palardy is impressed with the Tennessee Football program and the direction its headed in under new head coach Kiffin.

"I'm really impressed with the coaching staff," Palardy said. "Coach Kiffin has assembled a great coaching staff. He is doing a great job and has plans on taking UT back to the top. Tennessee has always been on top of my list."

Palardy is known for is accuracy and leg strength. The talented kicker finished his junior season 76-78 on extra points, was four out of five on field goals and 98 percent of all his kickoffs were for touchbacks.

Hopefully the man in my sig passes some BS graduate test for OH HS seniors and gets on campus soon. Need somebody to roam the secondary and make plays. JT andGallon are the only 2 we are waiting for.

Apparently Fitz Toussaint has a ton of confidence and lets other players know about it. Kid cracks his teammates up with his shhhhhhh talking.

Denard Robinson is dumb fast. On lookers say it is weird to see how them Florida boys run and make it look effortless. Vinny Smith, DRob and Witty are the 3examples. They say they run so smooth and the northern boys are fast but look like they are busting it to get to top speed. Should be fun to start seeing theFLA kids get on the field this year.

UGA for an opener would be fun. Thank God its next year because things should be taking shape by then.
