'09 COLLEGE FOOTBALL OFF-SEASON THREAD-recruiting/Coaching Changes/Transfers

I really wonder how long that staff is going to be able to stay together. There has to be a lot of big ego's and *#!$ going on. Somebody has to bepeacemaker. Y'all think that Kiffin wll be able to manage them all? It's certainly an all star staff and VERY good on paper but I wonder...

There is no reason for Andre to go visit Miami because he already know his boys (Armstrong & Dye) is sticking with their commitments.
Andre is going to FSU for another reason

Greg Reid = criminole
If Reid can't get into Florida, I don't think he can make it into Bama or UGA

I'm hearing D'vo Richardson is switching to safety or taking up baseball full time. I guess dude is sick of ole' Jimbo

@ you insinuating that Dre' is going there to do anything other than visit. He ain't gonna be in T-Rich's ear...Ain't gonna happen. He is no Larentee McCray ( McRee ???) or Dee Webb. If anything, they'll talk about how Urban promised both of them that they will be the focus of the offense. I still think Trent sticks w/ Bamma's and Dre w/ the gates.

And D'Vo to safety is old news....Already posted a while ago. He's playing baseball this season and he's already 3rd on the Depth Chart and is gonna be further behind come Spring. I'll be surprised to ever see him put on a FSU football helmet again.

And why do people aways make excuses as to why kids don't wanna go to their school anymore? Oh, now Reid is going to Bama or UGA because he can't get in to UF. GTFOOH, Urban got Torrey Davis, John Brown and Chris Rainey in. He can get Reid in. If he couldn't get him in, he wouldn't have visited him or tried to get him to stick to his commitment on his official visit. Lets just keep it 100.

Other than taking a free trip (FSU broads
devil.gif
), what would be any otherreason for 'Dre all of sudden visiting FSU? I know Reid and 'Dre is cool but I doubt Reid put him on to visit FSU but you never know.

I didn't know about D'vo switching until the other day. I'm surprised he stayed on the football team that long because he is NICE on the diamond.

Greg Reid grades were suspect when we took his commitment last NSD. We took a chance on dude and now we getting burned. I know some schools were recruitungReid but I know some of the schools didn't take dude serious until the UA game. Oh well, cant get them all.

SMH @ Nukesse lying about not taking the trip to UT. Is he up there with Byrd or is he solo?
Kiffen has a sick list of recruits @ UT this weekend

All of a sudden? He has visited FSU twice already on Unofficiall's. FSU has been on the list for a possible official for a while now.

I'm pretty sure he's up there w/ Jarvis Byrd.

30. DB Jamario O'Neal, Ohio State - O'Neal earned four letters in Columbus and was a valuable reserve, but ultimately fell victim to the depth in the secondary at Ohio State. The odd man out each season, he lacked the consistency and the confidence of the coaches to leapfrog one of the starters at either at safety or cornerback. He leaves the Buckeyes as a disappointment, falling way short of expectations.
Worth the Hype? Nope

Mannnnnnnn...him and Cliff both. ughh.

ANY info on QB Kenny Guiton??

Not much out there other than his high school puts out a ton of talent. His two receivers this year are heading to Oklahoma and Texas, andthere's a stud DT that will be a senior next season. Can't really find much on Guiton, though.

Gunna,
Heard some stuff that the reason LK dropped Boyd wasn't because he wasn't the type of QB LK was looking for, but that Papa Boyd was becoming a littletoo "involved" for LK's liking.

Oh lord, here come the sour grapes and insinuations... This isn't just about your comment. I've already seen enough links to them onRivals.

OSU & Oregon were still recruiting him, so it appeared to be enough of a non-factor that Tressel was hanging his hopes on getting Boyd. Tons of teamswould still love to have Bryce Brown despite everything surrounding him (I realize he's the #1 recruit in the country).

Young Donovan McNabb.

Hopefully he doesn't go to VPI.

I think they have been on him the longest as of this moment.

Not sour grapes, at all. I'm just posting information that I've heard from insiders on Scout. Like I said in another post, I don'treally get all hyped up on recruiting like a lot of people do. I follow it and it interests me, but I'm not going lose sleep over where a 17-18 year oldgoes to play college football. Look back on all my posts about Boyd. I've wished him nothing but luck and said the Tigers got a good one. So save your sourgrapes talk.

Edit: My bad ddot, I just re-read your post and saw that you weren't necessarily talking about my post.

wherever he goes, its a package deal with his brother getting a QB scholly offer. so UT is def. out. Ill or Mich.

UGA has Reid and Starling in town this weekend. I think that's about it.

Really only holding out for decisions from those two, Brown, Charles, and the Geathers brother. Jarvis Jones, too, but nobody expects him at UGA...

[font=arial, helvetica]Tallahassee police arrested FSU football player Preston Parker this morning after getting a report that someone was passed out behind the wheel of a car in the parking lot of McDonald's, 672 W. Tennessee St.

An officer arrived and found a red Dodge Charger in the drive-through line at the resaturant. There were no other cars in front or behind the Charger. A witness told police the car had been parked there for about 20 minutes.

The officer approached the car and found the engine running, the car in drive and the driver's foot on the brake pedal, according to a news release issued this morning by the Tallahassee Police Department.

The officer banged on the window to try to wake up the driver, later identified as Parker, by banging on the window. Eventually, Parker woke up and took his foot off the brake pedal. The car began to travel forward. The officer yelled out, and Parker stopped the car, according to the news release.

Parker was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs after taking part in a field-sobriety test. He agreed to take the test, police said.

His blood-alcohol reading was 0.054. The legal limit in Florida is 0.08. A urine sample was presumptive positive for marijuana, police said. The news release states that Parker admitted he drank alcohol and smoked marijuana that night.

Anyone convicted of first-offense DUI in Florida faces a fine of up to $1,000 and up to six months in jail. The charge is a misdemeanor.

[font=arial, helvetica]FSU football player Preston Parker is being processed this morning on a charge of DUI at the Leon County Jail.

Parker, 21, arrived 5:43 a.m. at the jail. He is waiting to be booked.

The FSU junior, a standout wide receiver, was arrested about 5 a.m., according to officials with the Tallahassee Police Department.

He served a two-game suspension to start the season after pleading to misdemeanor charges of carrying a concealed weapon and marijuana possession.

He never put up the statistics to match his sophomore season in which he was named FSU's offensive MVP by coaches. Parker had 40 receptions for 372 yards and two touchdowns plus 87 yards rushing during the 2008 regular season. He finished with 1,060 yards total offense a year ago.

Yeah, but he was hurt as well.

When healthy and in shape, he did work when he could.

SMH.

I hope he goes D2 or some $$** next year and balls out and goes to the L.

Debose? Take Preston's spot ?

^ part of the reason he didn't produce like he did as a soph was because of the other playmakers we had at WR. Bert and Taiwan were def gonna get some burnespecially in Jimbos system and we committed to the run a lot more than previous years

Couple of schools are having their Junior Day today... (Of the top of my head, FSU, LSU and UFaG)

May see some commitments....

Fixed. Where'd you hear that we were after him? I've never heard of him nor read anything about him on our boards. Lord knows we need another QBthough, we didn't even get one this past year

If Tyrod goes down it's either Boone (TE)or Ju-Ju Clayton (guarantee nobody knows who that is
