Center Field shout = More picks though, right?

Not many schools went deep across the middle against SC.
I understand that.
He's overrated, but guys on here are being way too critical.
How can you call him overrated then in the next sentence say that people are being way to critical?

Why WOULDN'T people be critical of a player who may not necessarily be living up to his billing.

I don't think there's anyone who called him a flat out bum, or anything like that

It's one thing to call a kid overrated and another to say he's "incredibly overrated" and "not on the same planet as Eric Berry". At the end of the day, TM is still a fringe top 5 safety. Kid was playing elite-level towards the end of last season.
1. Taylor Mays is not on the same level as Eric Berry. That is a factual statement, any slightly knowledgeable CFB head can tell you that.

2. Taylor Mays is indeed a fringe top 5 safety, Eric Berry is the unquestioned #1 DB in the country, & is arguably the BEST DEFENSIVE PLAYER in CFB.
You fools need to get off Eric Berry's jock and take a reading comprehension class
laugh.gif
. Did I ever say TM was on EB's level? I said the quotes above were ridiculous; that doesn't translate to TM being better than or on par with EB. You groupies need to settle down.

you know what we can end this whole issue rite now.

Eric Berry>>Taylor Mays

Police use Taser to subdue Ohio St. lineman during arrest
Boone, a 6-foot-8, 312-pound tackle in the draft, reportedly ran from officers

The Associated Press

Monday, February 02, 2009

Aliso Viejo, Calif. - Ohio State offensive lineman Alex Boone was arrested after being subdued with a Taser during an alleged drunken tirade.

Authorities said on Monday that the 21-year-old Boone was taken into custody late Sunday for investigation of resisting arrest after Orange County sheriff's deputies responded to a disturbance call outside of a home in Aliso Viejo.

When they arrived, the 6-foot-8, 312-pound tackle had been jumping on car hoods, yanking on a tow truck cable and trying to break a window, said sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino.

Boone ran away from deputies and was found hiding underneath a patio, authorities said. Boone was combative and uncooperative and had to be taken down with a stun gun, Amormino said.

"He was yelling obscenities at deputies and had a strong smell of alcohol," Amormino said. "His blood-alcohol level was at least three times the legal amount."

Talk about it in Football Recruiting Board
Even though it's officially the dead period, things are hardly quiet for Midwest City (Okla.) Carl Albert running back David Oku.

David Oku said he needs some space to come up with a final decision.
The nation's No. 1 all-purpose back said things have gone from bad to worse with his decision. Despite being committed to Tennessee, the 5-foot-10, 186-pounder took official visits to Syracuse and Auburn recently.

"Everyone is trying to get me to pick already, but I'm not ready," Oku said. "All these coaches are making it worse by calling and trying to talk when I don't want to. This is a lot of pressure to put on one kid, and it doesn't help that I've got some family stuff going on, too."

It's gotten to the point that Oku said he wants the calls to stop.

"I'm not taking any calls," he said. "I just want the coaches to give me some space. Too much is going on for me right now."

Oku has said all along that he considers himself a Tennessee commitment, but he's backing away from that also.

"I'm not committed to anyone anymore," he said.

"I don't have any plans to sign on Wednesday. I don't know when a decision will be made. I just need some space and some time to think and sort things out. Hopefully the coaches will respect that and understand how difficult this has become for me."

damn that doesnt really sound too good for UT. but he has to know that he'd be able to come in right away & compete for serious playingtime from jump

Not suprised at all by this.

Go to syracuse and never be heard from again.

I ccan understand Auburn but Syracuse.

Lane Kiffen is making his presence felt on the recruiting trail. Looks like JeRon Stokes is back to being a Vol. Our pathetic offense this year was a big hitto recruiting. Hopefully Rich fields a somewhat decent offense this year or we will swing and miss on solid players again.

One ND recruit called Lane "creepy". Probably the best word I have seen a recruit call a coach.

Newbs, Stokes been sayin he's been a Vol since few weeks ago. Til I see him sign, I seriously don't believe it.

Doesn't make sense to me unless they were promised some serious PT.

I mean you got a chance to go and start from day 1 and be the man or go to a big time school work your @%% off and be lucky if you crack the depth chart. Somewant to play right away

Also, Will Secord a 3* from TX who was committed to Ark switched and is now coming FSU.

Thomas would be a Nole if he had a commitable offer.

FSU just never gave him one as of the moment, so he went on ahead and committed to Syracuse.

He should be a good one, he balled out last year.

Led Dade County w/ like 8 picks last year.

Uhhhh....Torrey Davis can barely stay eligible/out of trouble and Patchan is injury prone. You can't really depend on either of them to be there all season. Gary Brown is a beast though. When you have ?'s at a position, I would hardly call that 'Stacked'.
WR maybe not stacked, but we'll be fine. We'll have Cooper, Hernandez, Richardson, Thompson, Moore, and Debose
Y'all will be depending heavily on a frosh. The loss of Percy is gonna HURT. Y'all still will be potent though, but still. That WR core ain't scaring nobody. Moore and Thompson have done what?
Rankings for hs players may not mean everything, but a team full of 5 star players will beat a team full of 3 and 4 star players any day.

Like Boise and Oklahoma, right? Or how about a team like Wake Forest. Or Ole Miss? Or Oregon State? Need I go on?

You just made my point. Those Boise and Utah games stand outexactly for the same reasons I said. It is rare that one of these teams beats the elite level teams - namely UF, USC. And regarding the DTs, love howyou forgot to mention Omar. As for the WRs, Thompson and Moore did little last year because they had Murphy and Harvin in front of them. Just like Murphy didlittle to nothing his first two years - this is what stacked means - you are so loaded that you have great players waiting for guys to go to the NFL.

How did I prove your point when you said that a team full of 5* players will beat out a team of 3* players any day? I proved your point by givingyou examples of the complete OPPOSITE? Yeah, ok. That makes a lot of sense...You didn't say it was rare, you said they would beat them any day.

Why would I bring up Omar when he obviously isn't as much of a '?' as the ones that I talked about? That would make no sense. And forthat matter, I didn't talk about ther DT's you had as well. Y'all ain't stacked at DT. Bottom line.

And I know what stacked means....I understand why the players you mentioned didn't play. I'm just pointing out the fact that you can't expect toomuch out of players who have yet to make major contributions.

Reading comprehension.

Reading comprehension? If you knew what stacked means then this conversation would have never happened. And you didn't bring up Omar because it proves tomy point, we are stacked at DT ... and I was going to let that Bama vs Utah example fly but .... that was not a game of 2* 3* vs 5 stars. That Bamateam was littered with 3 star talent from the Shula days. They only have a handful of 5 star players. Andy Obvisouly no outcome happens asexpected/predicted every time - that's life.

stanford vs USC. what do u call that? Oregon st vs USC ? what do u call that ...

I know. You would have realized that y'all are NOT stacked at DT.

And you didn't bring up Omar because it proves to my point, we are stacked at DT ...
Yeah right. One good player makes y'all stacked at a position. Ok.

Anyways, I'm done w/ this !+@$ cause it's going nowhere.

Greg Reid set to announce tonight @ 7. UGA, FSU, Or Bama.

Who else is announcing today?
