'12 COLLEGE FOOTBALL OFF-SEASON (NSD, spring practice, summer sessions)

They should go to Hawaii w/ Dorsey

& on Levenberry he & his pops felt they weren't getting enough love and contact since EJ committed but he didn't reopen his recruitment. He did(does) have an OV scheduled for UM and one for OU when they play ND. Looks to be calm on that front right now

The 2012 preseason Coaches' Poll is out, yielding the first Top 25 of the year that actually affects things. We're so close to football!

Aug 2, 2012 - The USA Today Coaches' Poll will matter in college football for only two more seasons. After that, it'll no longer play a role in determining which teams make which postseason, as the entire BCS formula will more or less be replaced by a selection committee. Pretty happy thought, huh?

Related: Check out the latest preseason BlogPoll College Football Top 25, featuring LSU over USC.

However, for the time being it still plays into the BCS, and is thus the most important poll, disregarding the obvious reasons (IT'S A COACHES POLL) why it shouldn't be. But still, its release signifies we're even closer to the season than we thought we were, so let the warm vibes continue.

To some surprise, USC is ranked behind both LSU and Alabama to start the year, despite entering the year with quite a bit of preseason No. 1 talk. The rest of it is SEC-heavy as well, with half the top 10 coming from the SEC.

He needs to stay out of Valdosta. Crippin' gonna bring him down. That boy Telvin might not be eligible for the fall too. Those 229 boys are wildin'

Really do not understand why he would go to school there when he can not stay out of trouble when he is there "visiting"????

I'm looking forward to that Boise/MSU matchup but I'm not sure what Boise has coming back. MSU is going to have a tough defense.

Tennessee receives 3 votes yet Northwestern can't even get 1.

but you're the 5th or 6th best team in your conference. top 25 is ambitious right now.

My comment was made in jest tbh. Just referring to the SEC bias trope. By my count, Tennessee was the 11th SEC team to get a vote. I'm just saying.

what does last year have to do with this up-coming year?

and are you really crying over 3 votes in a pre season poll?

Crying? C'mon now. No need to get so serious. I just said my comment was in jest and thus not to be taken at face value. I'm just poking at SEC bias. I think any rational individual would find 11 out of 12 conference teams receiving a top 25 vote worthy of a quip. Tennessee just happened to be the 11th and my school just happened to not get a vote. I swear I made a comment in the same vein last year and no one said anything. I'm just messing around. And if you don't believe that, just assume the off-season is wearing on me and I didn't place my original comment in the proper context. My bad.

14?! Well then. Let's move on. My incompetence knows no bounds.

I watched UGA-SC during dinner last night. CFB needs to hurry up. There are only so many times I can take pleasure in an errant Stephen Garcia throw.

Yeah the $EC added Mizzou and TAMU remember? Vandy, Kentucky and Ole Miss didn't get votes.

I will miss Stephen Garcia. He was always good for a laugh (and a suspension). Soeaking of UGA, tha t#1 WR core in the nation is gonna take a hit w/ Mitchell playing DB full time now, eh?

DAWGZ.

Those rankings were compiled and released before Silas' transfer was official. USC is #1 in my book going into the 2012-2013 season. Bama #2.
