14 Dead, 50 Hurt In Batman Movie Shooting

 @ anyone who thinks gun control laws would've stopped this.

Ain't nothing you can do to stop things like this, and that's the scary/sad part.

Some people are just ******g crazy.

if youre watching cnn, gun control is already being brought up...

Wow, her Guardian Angel saved her!
RIP to all the lost.
Damn potential diversion?

It seems like had she not been guided away, this would of been WAAAAAAAYYYYY worse. Much worse. I mean her and EVERYONE else in that area could have been killed too. Then you have all the police and emergency workers at that location. Then this monster has free reign over the theater.

Its a damn shame when people feel the need to impact this world and people in such a way. Believe me when I tell you he will pay.

yeah Im watching CNN and seeing this
dude said he thinks it was 2 people in on it! he said "a potential suspect got a phone call propped opened the door and signaled someone to come in and then he sat back down and watched the movie then 20 minutes later in comes a guy throwing tear gas grenades"
crazy the guy getting interviewed on CNN was sitting in the 2nd row 4 seats away from the door the dude came in at and he made it out alive
he also said he could feel the hot shells from the AR15 dropping on his leg :smh:

Ruh roh.

Hopefully the guy remembers how the guy looked and the cameras picked up his face. That sounds hella fishy.

Usually people go out of the theater the way they came in. Damn that's crazy.

I thought those emergency exit doors sound off an alarm?

A source is saying that Holmes bought a ticket, snuck out to gather his gear and then came back through :x:smh:

Another case of legally bought weapons too. I'm pissed right now but more so because this coward took something we can't get back. Lives and security. No matter what we do to him.

Someone opened the emergency exit door that's all I know

He bought a ticket, left through the exit door but kept it propped open. Then went to his car to get the guns & armor and came back to the theater. :smh:

this honestly makes me wonder why politicians never speak on the violence in places like Chicago. Granted they're not single incident of mass murders but people are dropping dead over the weekend in Chicago, yet we put the flag on half-mast in denver.

Is the sole difference the fact that it was a single incident?

I'm surprised the shooter didn't kill himself. This guy surrenders to police, saying he's the joker. Dude is sick. Disgusting.

I try really hard to hold my tongue in person when people say stuff like this, but sometimes others don't make it easy. Its a slap in the face to the families of those who lost their lives for you to insinuate that there was some sort of "angel" when in fact this same angel didn't help the 15 who were killed and the 51+ who were wounded. You can't keep counting the wins and overlook the losses. That sounds like the Texas Sharpshooter Fallacy

That potential diversion news is freakin scary man, I'm glad that woman didn't open that door and she was spared....this dude obviously had much bigger intent to cause more trauma. The more that comes out the more I wonder how his mom or family didn't try to get help...they said his family claimed he was frustrated from graduating with a high degree and being unable to find permanent work :smh: . I'm really losing all hope in humanity, like what can possess you to do this, shooting kids and innocent adults. I can't imagine the impact of that booby trapped room if that had gone through....my thoughts are with the victims and their families, I can't believe this type of stuff seems to happen annually here

Holmes allegedly started a profile on Adult Friend Finder this month. Below are the photos he allegedly uploaded to the profile.

The thought of the diversion is mind blowing. No pun. Holmes probably had plans to blow that whole apartment up and have the entire police department go to the apartment scene, while he caused even more havoc in the theatres. Dude was probably shook when he realized how quick the police got to the scene. He had much more worse intentions than what he already caused, no way you bring guns with about 1000 rounds and you're not planning to use it all in his situation.

SMFH..

RIP to those that had their lives taken away by a pitful human being.

real life...

metal detectors wont pop off...

its too expensive and it will drive movie sales down...why?

because no one is trying to take off their belt and empty their pockets when they are trying to go watch a movie...
they something beeps and you gotta stand to the side and get padded down... you get to your seat and there are nothing more but front row seats... i would be furious...

not only will it drive movie sales down but it will also increase the prices of the ticket and concessions...
why?
because movie theaters will be spending more money on metal detectors, employees to pat people down and the added "security."

what about all the separate exits at movie theaters?

yes this is a tragedy but if someone wants to pop off like that they will no matter what...

what they should do is add some cameras that are on watch all the time... this will also stop people from sneaking into movies and help the cinema

the fact that people can buy guns so easily is what caused this. if it would be more difficult to buy guns and ammo, you think he'd be able to kill so many people?

even though it is in the constitution, **** like this only happens in the US, not anywhere else

AURORA, CO - A neighbor of the mass shooting suspect thinks the man, James Holmes, may have tried to lure someone into his booby-trapped apartment to create a diversion during the shooting spree.

The neighbor, Chris Rodriguez, told Scripps Denver station 7NEWS, he and his girlfriend started hearing loud techno music coming from above them at midnight.

"Usually the complex is very quiet, nobody has parties, so that was the first time we actually had a party or a lot of noise at the complex," said Rodriguez.

After about 15 minutes, Rodriguez's girlfriend decided to knock on the door and ask them to turn the music down.

"She went upstairs to the apartment, and she knocked on the door pretty hard, she knocked two or three times and yelled into the door, 'Hey, can you turn that music down, we are trying to sleep,'" said Rodriguez.

Rodriguez said that no one answered and his girlfriend didn't even hear any footsteps.

While she was listening at the door, she noticed that the door moved.

"The door moved a little bit, and the handle jiggled a little, and she was contemplating going into the apartment, but something told her don't do it," Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez said his girlfriend then went back to their apartment and called police.

Officers said they would try to send an officer out, but they weren't sure if they had anyone.

After 20 to 30 minutes, the music continued, so they called the non-emergency number for Aurora Police again.

"The dispatcher said, 'We're in a crisis right now, we really can't have any officers out at the moment,'" Rodriguez said.

At the time, Rodriguez didn't know about the mall shooting.

The couple went back to bed and the music stopped at 1 a.m.

At 2 a.m., Rodriquez said he heard a loud crash, then a knock on the door.

"It's the SWAT team there in full armor," Rodriguez said.

Officers escorted the couple and others out of the building.

"My theory is that what he did is he started the music up around midnight so somebody would go up to the apartment and open that door around 12:15," said Rodriquez.

Damn potential diversion?
If all that is true, does that mean he's a copycat of that Norwegian spree killer?
