[::2009 Champion LAKERS OFF-SEASON THREAD Vol. Boring Non-News Days Causing In-Thread Tension::]

I guess LO wants to get to those DWade parties more often since he won't be celebrating championships anymore. It seems he and Ariza were smoking out thesame bong after the parade. I could almost understand Arize b/c he is younger and may want a chance to contribute more and improve his game.

LO, on the other hand, would be getting paid to play 50% of the season and then up it to about 80-90% during the playoffs and give himself additional chancesat more rings.

I wish I could post the facepalm jpeg b/c that's what all this makes me feel like.

screw him...he took this long to take the offer and now talks resurface and hes gonna go to the heat...get the hell out of LA odumb...i wish we couldve keptariza and have artest...

mitch gotta have some kinda trick up his sleeve cause the bench is lookin really weak with out lamar

One source says he's staying with the Lakers, the other he is going to Miami, another one said Portland is the favorite......Unless I see something with"Odom officially signs with......." in title, I won't believe a thing.

Maybe LO will surprise everyone and sign with Greece for 55 mil tax free dollars.

I could see that happen, one year 10 or 12 million... Of course it's no my money but it's possible
if we do get Lee it's a must bynum come off the bench and bump Pau to the 5 and lee as the 4

My feeling is that Odom doesn't care about winning another ring since he already got one. He seem to care more about the parties, nightlife, money. I guesshe like South beach a lot more than L.A. He already won a ring so i guess that enough to satisfy him. His next priority probably go back to South beach andhang out with Dwade

Ya there's no way unless sign and trade, which has been talked about. Not with LA though.

If LO leaves, the Lakers need to add a high-impact player to the bench. A combination of a decent player and a veteran is probably the best case scenario, although Joe Smith is the only veteran that comes to mind.

Mitch will probably need to pull off a trade to get a LO replacement. There's not a lot of talent left in the free agent pool.

I would like to see LO in Miami. I loved that 03-04 team. But I would like him on the Lakers a little more.

I understand but what doesn't make sense is the fact that majority of his businesses are in the Los Angeles area... from his restaurant to his

clothing line.

Like I said leaving the Lakers to go to the Heat doesn't make sense.... HOW DOES HE KNOW DWAYNE IS EVEN GOING TO STAY!

It would be funny if Dwayne leaves next year and takes less to play forthe Lakers (I know I'm dreaming).
Heat Make No Progress With Odom
The Heat haven't made any progress with free-agent forward Lamar Odom, according to The Palm Beach Post.

Odom has reportedly resumed talks with the Lakers about a new deal, and he is widely expected to return to Los Angeles.

You read this and then you read the Yahoo report. We will keep hearing this stuff back and forth but I just believe that he is gone.
Lamar Odom and Miami inching closer?
Yahoo!'s Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that Lamar Odom could be close to signing the Miami Heat's long-standing full mid-level exception offer. While it's important to note that no decision has been made, those in AW's ear hint that a return to South Beach could very well be in the cards.

Odom has not reached a final decision, the sources said, but there is growing belief he will ultimately return to the Heat unless the Lakers improve their current offer. "It's close, but it's not done," said one source.

Without question, that language feels like it was floated by members of "Team LO" as a means of applying some (pun intended) heat on Lamar's most recent employers. Not that Lamar can't possibly be mulling a return to South Beach, but the mere hint of an ultimatum does feel like a shot lobbed across the Lakers' bow. But it doesn't feel like a direct hit sinking the ship, so for the time being, I'm not abandoning ship when it comes to hopes of Lamar remaining a Laker.

I was, however, a little concerned over the detail there Dr. Buss is lowering his offer (which gibes with
LAT predictions upon the resumed talks). As BK noted in the now iconic "Kitten" post, Doc B.'s pride needs to remain in check as well. Getting upset that Team LO fielded offers from other teams while failing to return calls over his own is understandable, but there's a bigger picture involved. Just as it would be silly for Lamar to sacrifice a better winning potential over money that- in the grand scheme of things- shouldn't make a dent in his long-time security, it would be equally silly for Dr. Buss to sacrifice championship potential to remind folks that nobody crosses him. If it made sense and was fair to (reportedly) offer LO 3/30 or a partially guaranteed 4/36 a couple weeks ago, it makes sense and is fair now.

All we can do is hope we don't have Ariza 2.0

to me it seems that the Palm Beach Post story is older than the Yahoo Sports story. I hope he changes his mind and returns to the Lakers.
