[::2009 Champion LAKERS OFF-SEASON THREAD Vol. Boring Non-News Days Causing In-Thread Tension::]

now we can talk about what strategy to use vs the celtics or orlando
lakers can just pick n roll the cavs to death cause shaq is on that sorry %%+ franchise
pimp.gif

also......if we signed a bruce bowen, it would prevent a boston or san antonio from getting him and improving their bench...

Im Pretty Sure You Guys Heard What They Did To The Game Jerseys

Gonna Have Sponsors On Them, Morongo Casino FTL

Powe Wouldn't Hurt, But With His Injuries?

I'd rather us focus on developing Powell and Morrison rather than signing Powe and/or Bowen.

I think developing Ammo would be great to cause a push in the 2nd unit....as opposed to getting so old timer for 1 or 2 seasons then we are left developinganyway...

and to the people saying we had the ebst off season moves...i think that award goes to orlando...but we still have the best team

i think so...but if ammo can take vujacics minutes and come through and powell keeps getting better.....ie eno reason we shouldnt resign them

LOL @ developing Morrison in his contract year. Doesn't really help us in the long-term. Better to see Vujacic get back into his 07/08 form sincethat's what we're PAYING him to do. If we could trade him or Walton, that would be great. But I don't see teams making cap moves beforethe season starts.

I'd really like to see Bowen on the Lakers. You can't find a replacement for Kobe, but Bowen still brings energy on the defensive end and canknock down open looks.

Brown
Bowen
LO
Powell
Bynum

This is a very solid defensive lineup. Lakers build up a lead and this unit could sustain it. Slow the tempo down and feed Bynum and work thatinside-outside game. I like it, I like it.

But... gotta get rid of Walton or Morrison first.

^ I dunno bout Bowen off our bench at all....our bench is known for its uptempo push the ball style...which is something dude CANT do

I'm pretty sure I saw cobwebs flying from out of Bowen the last two playoff runs
laugh.gif
.For 5-7 minutes, he'd be fine. More than that? Eh
ohwell.gif
.

But like I said, I don't think the Lakers will be adding any more players to the roster due to the financial constraints.

Neither can Jordan Farmar.

All Bowen's job would be is run to the corner and spot it, simple

I can give a rats !#% if we go after Bowen, I'm all for depth on the bench - whether its a vet or a youngster, depth is never a bad thing.

Trade my man Luke? I never understood the hate on the guy. He is a great passer in the triangle offense. <3 Luke, dont trade him.

But sign Leon Powe? Hell yeah
smile.gif

Seems as if some of y'all want our team to be picture perfect at ALL positions 1-13........stuff like that NEVER happens, with Lamar back, this team is puttogether just fine

the only thing that can prevent the Lakers from being a better team than they were last year is if Kobe starts to decline after so many games played. Otherwise this team has the potential to be something special if they stay relatively healthy.

We still haven't seen what this team can truly be with the Pau/Bynum tandem in the front line because in the beginning of the year Bynum was just feelingout his knee and then by January he was playing great and unfortunately got hurt and couldn't regain his form when he came back. Now this season hedoesn't have to mainly focus on rehab and can continue to refine his game and improve his physical strength. Its like adding another player.

Kobe declining physically
laugh.gif

are u kidding me?

Dude is in the prime years of his career, his off season training is second to none and this summer he will have a full summer off. Also with the team being asdeep it is now with Ron Ron signed dont be surprised if Phil cuts down his playing minutes even more during the regular season. Phil is the best coach when itcomes to managing players minutes and keeping them fresh for the playoffs and finals runs.

QFT-Phil is the best at managing minutes.. My guess Kobe plays maybe 35 minutes a game.. Pretty much
can rest every fourth quarter and let Ron do his thing..

we already have what he need to get thru the league. who else has made an upgrade like us ????

that's right, NOBODY !!!! i can't remember the last time a team making such a remarkable upgrade after ALREADY winning the championship.

i bet this is why most people hate LAKERS fans
laugh.gif
oh well
grin.gif

are u kidding?

a few teams have made upgrades... Boston brought in sheed and marques daniels to come off the bench. the spurs brought in jefferson and mcdysse. the magic got vc and bass. the cavs brought in shaq, miller, and moon. the mavs brought in marion and a few veteran shooters off the bench. every top team in the league has made improvements,

and if you wanna get technical, people hate on the lakers because of fans who think the lakers will just "run through the league" word to michael jackson...

we gained artest but lost ariza. we only upgraded in one position this offseason. we are still shaky in positions on the bench. a bowen, alston, joe smith would improve the team even more...
sure. those are nice upgrades, but are you going to tell me that by acquiring RJ and Antoino, all of a sudden they are going to give the LAKERS arun for their money ? sure, they might, but let's be realistic, who is going to stop LO and PAU ? Kobe and Fish ? Bynum and Artest ?

also, do you honestly believe that by acquiring marion, the mavs are contenders ?
laugh.gif
dude said bass and vc, if you combine turk and gortat, they are betterthan vc and bass IMO.

yeah, and that ONE upgrade allow, just set us even higher than last season. it just seems to me that way, because imagine how good we were last season, andthat is we slack off a lot and we still owed the league. i just see it as "only getting better."

but hey, we'll just have to wait and see...hopefully no let downs, word to 2003-04.

edit:

and I just realized, that most of our starters are some of the best defenders @ their position
