I was avoiding this thread, but I'd see the snippets of what the last posts were and the one I saw was "S/O to USA Women's Gymnastics for winning Gold." Something like that...I was like "God dammit NT." That was my bad though.

i'm trying to watch the full events replay on NBCOLYMPICS.COM and for some reason i get a message saying that i'm not in the US or US territories therefore i can watch it. is anybody else getting this message?

Wait so how does mens swim team work?
They have a number of guys, the coach picks 4 (the day/week of?) to do the relays and only those 4 win medals if they place? Might sound stupid but then it would make some of the swim team athletes not able to have the same chances to earn medals, etc.

I'm so excited to watch Gabby in the all-around final. She's been my favorite....Never had a good feeling about Jordyn Wieber.

the team can swim/run 4 guys in the heat and run a completely 4 different guys in the final
in track, the 4 x 400 is the easiest example.. you'll see guys who run the 400 hurdles running in the heats of the 4 x 400 so the coaches can rest guys
everyone who runs (heats and finals) gets whatever medal the 4 guys who run in the finals get
he has said this is his last olympics..
but dude will only be 31 in 2016.. and i'm sure he'll get the competitive itch once he's gets a real break (without all the critics watching his every move).. plus i'm sure all the questions will help this cause
if i were his coach, i would tell him get away from chlorine for 1.5-2 years.. just hit the gym and exercise regularly.. if you're up for it after that, we are going train for 3 races: 100 fly, 100 free and 200 free (200 free is only here so he can get on all 3 relays)
he can then cut the heavy mid-distance training he's had to do all these years.. can do more dry land and weight room stuff to build up strength (thus truly becoming a sprinter)

Not sure if anyone cued in today, but the mens tennis singles between Raonic (Canada) and Tsonga (France) went 3-6, 6-3, and 25-23... longest tennis match in Olympic history.

Almost every Gold medal T & F event, and the remaining swimming events will be tape delayed....One of the worst displays of broadcasting I will ever witness.
I'm over it though. I am enjoying the few events I can find live.

Good thing they don't have rules like that in basketball. Teams tank all the time to get a favorable draw early in the knockout rounds.
