Only teams in the East that are in the top 8 that probably didn't want to be are Boston and Toronto).
It's the teams that WEREN'T trying to suck in the East that are surprisingly bad (BK, NY, CHI, CLE)
Those are 4 teams most people thought were playoff locks (maybe not Cleveland, but they were supposed to be better than this)
Detroit could possibly not make it to and they weren't trying to tank either.
So Rose's injury wasn't surprising? I think that was his point.Only teams in the East that are in the top 8 that probably didn't want to be are Boston and Toronto).

Chicago isn't surprisingly bad though. They lost Rose for the year, and Butler has been injured. And Cleveland wasn't going to make much noise, still. The only two teams that are surprising are the two NYC teams.
LinkGasol-Bynum swap discussed
The Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers have had discussions on a trade that would involve Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum, league sources told ESPN.com.
No deal is believed to be imminent, but both sides are mulling it over ahead of a Jan. 7 deadline when the second half of Bynum's $12.25 million salary would be guaranteed. The Cavs suspended Bynum for one game this weekend for conduct detrimental to the team and have excused him indefinitely from all activities, including games.
By trading Gasol in a package for Bynum and then waiving him, the injury-ravaged Lakers could save more than $20 million in salaries and luxury taxes, which could help them maintain financial flexibility heading into the next few summers. A Gasol-Bynum trade would have to include at least one other player and perhaps other assets from Cleveland.
Suns are surprising me more and more.
Gerald Green want that 6th man of the year
Can't believe that he is finally playing to his potential
Suns are surprising me more and more.
I was impressed by them. They play fast, hard and with a lot of confidence. They were all over the place defensively last night. Hornacek is doing a great job.
oh.Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA 18m
The NBA issues a statement that Minnesota's Kevin Love was fouled on arm, should've been awarded two free throws at end of loss to Dallas.
