2013 College Football Thread (Realer than Real Deal Holyfield -->S/O Craftsy)

Head injuries, which had what to do with how he was used? And a freak injury with the broken leg. His load should be lightened with Gus/Yearby too.

According to the Oklahoma State beat writers at the Tulsa World Herald, safety Lyndell Johnson is no longer at Oklahoma State. This is a major loss for a team that already lost 14 starters and 8 second-stringers to graduation and/or the NFL draft. "Johnson, a native of Plano, Texas, was a key member of the Cowboys' defense last season after moving from linebacker to safety to see more playing time. He started three games because of injuries and was expected to move into the starting lineup with the departures of seniors Daytawion Lowe and Shamiel Gary and reserve Zack Craig. Now, sophomores Deric Robertson and Jordan Sterns are likely candidates to become starters. Senior Larry Stephens also returns after a season-ending injury in Week 1 of last season." FSU opens with Oklahoma State in Dallas on Labor Day weekend.

baseball's player union takes care of their players better than any league

Dillon was automatic points in the red zone and has crazy balance/shake and a great first step. The problem is he's not really that fast in the open field. He was constantly getting run down from behind.

According to SportsCenter, every 5* player at Bama has ended up being selected in the 1st round of the NFL draft.

Impressive even though they enter the league at 80%

See ya Brent

As expected, ESPN announced Thursday that Chris Fowler will take over Brent Musburger’s seat alongside Kirk Herbstreit in ABC’s Saturday Night Football booth. The pair will also call games in the first-ever College Football Playoff next year, including the national championship.

Fowler’s new gig won’t have any affect on his old one. Even with the added play-by-play duties, Fowler will continue to host ESPN’s popular College GameDay, pulling double-duty on Saturdays, just like Herbstreit.

Musburger will shift over to ESPN’s upcoming SEC Network to call weekly games with former University of Florida quarterback Jesse Palmer. The 74-year-old broadcasting legend will also continue to call Big 12 basketball games and college football bowl games on ESPN networks

SEC-ACC ball in Tiger Stadium, anyone?

LSU and Syracuse are working on a home-and-home series to begin in 2015, according to sources.

The series would likely kick off in Death Valley, though it's uncertain whether the contract is done.

LSU was one of a handful of SEC schools that needed to finish its 2015 non-conference schedule before the league releases its comprehensive football slate in the coming months. Alabama and Mizzou are among others still finding extra games.

The league's 8-game conference schedule for 2015 is pretty much done, I'm told.

LSU is staying aggressive on the scheduling trail, also playing Wisconsin in neutral site games for 2014 (Houston) and 2016 (Green Bay).

There's also scheduling buzz that Tennessee is interested in a potential kickoff game in Jacksonville or Atlanta or Charlotte.

^ Not only that, he's gettin this new deal too:

Deal for @cbfowler in $35 Million range, w/yearly average in mid 3′s. That’s a bit higher than @KirkHerbstreit avg for @espn . — James Andrew Miller (@ESPNBook) March 13, 2014
