Random thought... The past 2 second rounds in NBA draft, Lakers have gotten either the 1st or 2nd best best player.

2012:
1. Draymond Green
2. Robert Sacre

2013:
1. Ryan Kelly
(would be Pierre #1, but an ACL tear, :{)

If we strike out on the big name guys and get Isaiah Thomas we either got 1/2 from the 2011 Draft (Parsons is the other)

So Jordan Clarkson better not ruin this streak.

That's one thing Jim Buss & Mitch does very well. When we do draft we always seem to draft a very nice piece.
Minus one point guard we all know n love lol

Saver, why do you care who puts butts in seats? Is that what we care about as Lakers? I sure as **** don't. I care about titles. Kobe got them, years ago.

So.....cuz I liked two other guys, in hopes of pairing them next to Love, Randle wasn't wanted, at all?

We spoke on his defense, because it is a valid concern, that's all. There are the same questions about Jabari Parker, does that mean we wouldn't be happy to have Jabari? :lol :lol

Man, in January/February we identified EIGHT players that would be fine in LA. We finished at 6, guaranteeing we get 1, but we'd be out of the Wiggins/Jabari running.

As stated, Randle began the year as the #3 prospect, he took his team to the Championship game, had an amazing tournament, and grew up a Laker fan. I personally only worry about his defense, (and his foot) everything else checks out fine.
l

I don't care about who puts ***** in the seats but since we're talking bout assets that makes it relevant doesnt it ?

#3 prospect had a great tournament etc etc yet he goes # 7 and you yourself got two other guys ahead of him , now you acting as if he was the intended target.

P was so mad he turned the draft off and went to sleep :lol , now it's two weeks later and it's a lovefest :lol

As stated before y'all go back n forth to suit the agenda

Please make a decision Melo so we can move on one way or another.

Here's to Melo signing and bringing Laker basketball back to being enjoyable and people not *****ing about MDA or Kobe's contract.

I dont go in the warriors thread. 80 percent of the dudes in there are douche bags

You should go there. You probably would feel at home.

Noble Kane calling someone a douchebag, ohh the irony :lol

Good luck getting Melo & LeBron amigo, or good luck getting Kevin Love on the Warriors. Which ever one you're rooting for first, idk, I can't keep up with you. But keep being yourself, it's great comedy.

Melo always seemed like more fantasy than reality anyway, just something to think about to pass the time.

IT2 and Lance wouldn't be a bad summer hopefully lance doesnt do something crazy :{ to set us back ten years if we do sign him.

Saver, who is going back and forth? I haven't changed my stance, I still have Gordon and Vonleh as guys I would have wanted. Gordon went #4. Mitch chose Randle over Vonleh.

That doesn't mean Randle is garbage. We been sayin, he's a cross between Z-Bo and David West. Kid could be a 50-55 double-doubles type machine. At 19.

We only need him to somehow advance his defense.

What about any of that is flipping back and forth? Pretty sure we've been saying this for a few months now. Just because we prefer one guy, doesn't mean we think another is crap.

In 2007 we PREFERRED KG, but felt pretty good landing Pau. No? We used to dream every day about KG bein a Laker with Kobe. So did you flip flop when we got Pau? Does Pau suck because he's not KG??????

Getting a bit testy are we?

Remember you are in the laker season thread.

Talk about the lakers in a respectful way or get the **** out

Don't feed it, Noble.

@JaredZwerling 47m

Hearing Lakers are "real possibility" for Isaiah Thomas. Heat still pursuing, but LA has the $. Nothing happens 'til Melo & Bron make moves.

If no Melo or LeBron.. We'll at least get IT2
IT can be the new Swaggy.

I watched the whole draft. :lol Two weeks later, I'm warming up a bit to the draft pick. Not completely sold though.
On a side note Aaron Gordon looked awful yesterday.
Besides his first two jumpers (:x), I didn't think he was too bad.

Man if we got kg boston would never have been title contenders and win that one title :lol would have killed two birds with one stone :lol

If we got kg in 07...would we have gotten those 2 chips...by your estimate?

All depends on the deal. At time, Minny wanted Bynum and Odom. We "might" have gone Fisher, Kobe, Ariza, KG, C. That's an awesome defensive team minus the unknown C.

Now, if it was the Kwame deal for KG......

Bynum
KG
Ariza
Kobe
Fisher

Odom/Farmar/Sasha/Shannon yeah, I think we have a good chance at at least 2.

We'd give up 85 points a game with that group. :lol

But, that's all hypothetical, if Bynum/Ariza weren't hurt, we might have won 3 anyways. No way to know for sure.

I don't think we could have been that much more successful without Pau. He was a beast for us in that time. Maybe it's true we don't lose in 2007 if Boston doesn't have KG, but we'll never know.

Eh, I'm warming up to the idea of getting Melo. Dude is only 30 years old and doesn't have a questionable injury history. I'm fine with him being here until age 33 or 34, hell Kobe had one of his best years ever at age 34. His game is one that should age gracefully since he doesn't rely so much on his athleticism. Sign Pau back and hey let's go for it. I'd also get to sell my parking spot :hat
