I don't think signing Melo for 90+ million could be considered a better year, by any measure.

That's being facetious.

You're putting him together with a team with a core nucleus. Not building the core nucleus around him.

I think Noah is damn near the PERFECT complement to Melo, but Rose and Melo? NO. That's a bad mix.

Noah would feast with Melo tho. 18+ rebounds a night, and he doesn't need the ball for himself. And he would help protect him on D.

I quoted him last night when I seen him complaining about OKC trading Harden and ruining their potential and lamenting their bench isn't strong enough to help out.

After I spent all day listening to him downplay the Suns trading away 24 year old Joe Johnson, and half a decade worth of draft picks.

Damn ******* right I called that **** out. And all he had to say was yeah, the coaching sucks, that's why the Suns and Thunder can't win the title. :lol

Wrong again. I did say they should have kept Harden. But since they didn't it just magnifies the ineptitude of Brooks to NOT be playing his bench. Not that it isn't strong enough, it's that he refuses to play them. Like someone else who's been notorious for the exact same thing. And yeah the coaching sucks, but at least Scotty made it to the Finals with his cast, which is more than MDA can say.

Scotty made it with Harden. And Russ, and Durant, and Ibaka. All his pieces in place.

Which year did Mike have all his pieces for a run? Which year was that? Oh, never? Ok. Same thing then, right?

:lol :lol :lol at not playing his bench. :lol :lol Yes, why wouldn't Mike rush out to play that vaunted Suns bench?

You a Thibbs guy, Thibbs play his bench, Mamba?

CP please, stars > no stars.

You're better than this.

Agreed. I don't include Melo at 45% of your cap to be that, tho.

Want me to take on discount 15 mil per Melo? Sure, I can do that. Otherwise, no thanks.

On the flips side Chicago can't roll out that same team again next. Granted the Bulls may have a cheap owner but if a deal for Melo can be had then they need to make it happen. Melo won't & shouldn't take less so teams are just gonna have to come to grips with that.

We need to roll out a better squad too, don't mean I wanna run out and drop 60 million on Rudy Gay.

You wouldn't drop a dime on anyone though (triple entendre, @grandtheftbike).

The Los Angeles Lakers would.
Let them spend their hard earned cash. Mitch and Jim don't tell you how to spend your families budget. You think Jim would approve you spending 35% of your families income on Mountain Dew instead of toys for the kids? :p

2004-2005 Stat, Nash, Matrix and Joe and 2006-2007 Stat, Nash and Matrix, Diaw, Bell? I mean they made it to the conference Finals and conference semis didn't they? Even with Amare out in 2005-2006 they made it to the confernce Finals. I don't know why he wouldn't play Barbosa and James Jones more. Same reason I don't know why Brooks won't play Lamb and PJ3?

Or are you talking about the fictitious pieces of Rondo, Nate, Gortat, etc. In that case he never had them.

Thibs plays and has played Gibson a lot, played Nate, Kirk, CJ Watson, and Jimmy when they were backups. Even Rip Hamilton played over a 1000 minutes the year Rose was out.

skip to the "about to be sorry for jabari" part, two teams bulls and lakers

these guys talk all year about how the bulls have no offensive players, and this season they had the perfect chance to grab a free offensive talent

but instead they choose to play starters 40 minutes a game and get knocked out in the first round, what a lot of lakers fans wanted our team to do

so now that the season is over, bulls got no where and got nothing. we are looking to get a top 6 draft pick in a deep draft class

which team had the better season?
Bulls. They could have gone further had they not traded Deng, but what's done is done.

They still have 2 first round picks.

They could easily trade Taj to a late lottery team, and have 3 picks between 12-20.

After amnestying Boozer, trading Taj. They could have enough money for Melo.

Rose, Butler, Melo, Noah
Snell, Dunlevy, 3 - 1st round picks (which if they are all 12-20, they would easily move into maybe spots 8 by trading 2 of those picks).
so all that stuff you listed, it would still be an option if they did tank right?

like the amount of games they won this year had nothing to do with being able to trade taj, amnesty boozer and sign melo this offseason

but getting to draft a better player and another scoring option is directly related to the amount of wins they had this season

look at the lakers, we were trash all season and we still can sign melo this off season

stop listing a bunch of things that have nothing to do with this season to defend the idea that losing in the first round is better than tanking for the bulls. all those things can happen regardless of the record

when looking only at the effects of the regular season, we clearly came up on top

Wait, you're not suggesting that the previous season's outcome of a potential team has NOTHING to do with a free agent's decision, are you?

Yes, we sucked, and we COULD sign Melo. Meaning, it's possible.

And yes, it's possible for the Bulls. Possible for the Knicks to keep him. Possible for him to jump the pond and play in Turkey.

But if you're a top FA looking for a championship, you go to the team that's the most together.

Bulls look more together than us, even w/ a 1st round knockout.

Lettuce be cereal.

See, this is getting old, fast.

2004-05 WHAT HAPPENED TO JOE, MAMBA????????????????????

The Suns LOST Joe in the playoffs with a broken face dude. What the **** are you reading, some crappy wiki site or some ****?

2006-07, Stat, Nash, Matrix.......where is Joe Johnson? Oh, he's gone?

You mean, like how OKC is playing without Harden, 2 years later? But you claim OKC is stupid for letting go Harden, but it's on Mike for Joe Johnson being gone, and he should have just coached better with the lesser talent they received? :rolleyes

Same exact scenario, and yet you in here knockin OKC for it, while placing all the blame on Mike for Phoenix. That's that hypocrite bull **** in ya man. Stop lying to my face with that garbage and realize you just flat out beating on Mike for no reason.

Oh wait, OKC's owner is cheap, but the Suns owner isn't. Yeah, that's it. :lol

Skewed stats tho. How many minutes Jackson get with Russ out, when Jax was starting?

Same for Hinrich, right? With Rose out, etc.

It's not the same thing, but ok. They traded Diaw for Joe Johnson correct? Did MDA let Diaw rot on the bench? Did they not make it back to the WCF with Diaw starting as their center or not? Again they were good enough to win 55+ games and get back there, yet not good enough to get over the hump, you say it's a talent issue, I say it's a coaching issue.

Again READ this carefully, OKC is stupid for letting Harden go INSTEAD of Ibaka AND for not playing the guys that you got from Houston for him. What's the purpose? That's coaching. Not on the talent.

Beating on MDA for no reason, :lol You got the cape on for no reason.

Yes, because trading Joe Johnson for Boris Diaw is something you would totally support, sure.

So, Sarver isn't cheap.
Trading Joe for Diaw is acceptable.
Selling draft picks don't matter (but points out they have no bench)

It's a coaching issue.

You really have that era of the Suns down cold playa.

Same for Hinrich, right? With Rose out, etc.

Rose wasn't out in 2011-2012. And in 2012-2013 Nate and Marco were actually the bench players and played even more minutes. So I think the assertion that Thibs doesn't play his bench is false as well.

Russ wasn't out in 2011-2012 and 2012-2013, what's the excuse then? Or when KD is playing 3000+ minutes getting fatigued at the end of the season yet you got two young guys rotting on the bench that you traded away an All-Star for? That's coaching, not on the talent.
