Dude is a bum who has no idea how to manage egos or coach. He's been beefing with his own players for like his past 5 coaching years.

No sarcasm, I have been enlightened by the basketball aficionados in this thread. Despite all conventional thinking and the acumen and knowledge of people within basketball circles in the coaching ranks, media, players etc; MDA isn't a bad or average coach, he's a great one that just has had bad circumstances or not enough support financially and personnel wise to succeed and that's led him to quit on 3 teams. I'm sure he gets another gig, probably OKC when Brooks gets fired, surely then he'll show everyone how great he is. We were lucky to have him and ANYONE outside of Phil, Pop or the ghost of Red, is a downgrade. Not Doc Rivers, not Rick Carlise, nobody.

Can we sign Melo and Deng? Play Melo at the 4. But if we do that, we won't have space for Love in 2015 right? I mean Nash contract will be up in 2015. Also for this to work both Gasol and Deng need to take less money.

You don't go into your next season without assurance you will be there the following year(s).

If players know you're gonna be gone the next year anyways, why would they play for you?

He had to ask for the option to be picked up. He's known a lame duck status without it.

No need for ammo. Listen to what Mitch said all year. Mike has been great with all we've had to deal with. They KNEW his record would suffer sitting out Nash, shutting down Kobe, benching Hill/Kaman, even inventing Pau's vertigo.

Mitch credited him for his work, not his record. He had a leg to stand on.


I work my *** off at my job, but make the company literally, no money. But I keep track of millions in inventory and keep tons of little things flowing smoothly. The CEO has no clue what I do for the company, but my boss knows what I mean to it.

Mitch can't judge the coach on his record with this roster, he judges him by how the players play, how they work, how Mike works. (Practice, film, teaching, etc).

They didn't want to offer another year because I suspect they don't know who will be available to them next year. Love, Rondo, Durant, etc etc.

Now, they'll hire another lame duck coach while tryin to fix the roster. Zero stability within the FO and head coach, along with building towards what kind of system? Now maybe Love doesn't become a target, and Exum becomes obsolete to our "plan".

Basically, we're ****** for a couple years until we get some damn continuity. 3 coaches in 3 years is not good. And if we downgrade again to a Karl, or Hollins, or Scott, yet another coaching change will come in 2016.

If you use the stretch on Nash, you could get Melo & Deng. Wouldn't be able to keep Pau. Kobe, Melo, Deng, Pick would be about $57-60mil.

Kobe, Melo & Deng + pick would mean no Kevin Love in 2015.

IDK man, looks like the end of an era man. I was in denial for a long time but the Kobe re-up for 48.5 is looking more & more like a stop-gap move while we rebuild.

Not saying I felt MDA could take us to the promised land but man this team is in disarray, no continuity, no stability, nothing.

How I feel about MDA resigning.....

Never wanted him. Felt there was no way the Lakers would win a chip with him as head coach.
