its always interesting to see players go the coaching route after they retire. if fish decides to hang it up, i wonder what his coaching style would be like based on his experience. does he go old school with 2 bigs (phil)? new school with stretch 4s (nelson)? or have no identity (brooks)?

Dunleavy Scott Rambis Van Gundy :x

Would rather have Nash. I mean, we are paying him already, so why not?

Don't see why Van Gundy would be :x

He's obviously been waiting for the right franchise to coach. This could be it.

I wouldn't mind.

Hire Fish.

It's funny seeing Byron Scott call in to let the world know he's "interested" in the vacancy.

No **** you're interested bro.
We know sitting on your couch ain't fun for you. We know you want that 4 million a year to coach one of the most prestigious franchises in sports.

I know he's just being honest but c'mon.... Every coach in America is interested right now :lol

There's no other vacancy other than New York that would give you more spotlight and recognition than this franchise. Who doesn't want to be considered? :lol

You guys should have wanted to keep mike for another season. Get one more top pick, sign Kevin Love and another free agent next offseason. Lakers would be a contender.

If you're going according to that you might as well hire Kevin Ollie

“Kevin Ollie, he was a game-changer for us,” Durant told ESPN’s Bill Simmons on the B.S. Report during All-Star weekend. Ollie only spent 25 games with the Thunder (after a short run some years earlier with the Sonics), playing a total of 263 minutes and scoring 44 points. Whatever it was, Ollie made an impression on Durant and the rest of the team. “He changed the whole culture, I think. He might not say it, but I think he changed the whole culture in Oklahoma City.”

Simmons asked Durant within the context of veteran leadership, and what point guard Derek Fisher has added to the Thunder.

The Thunder were 23-59 in the season prior to Ollie’s arrival, then jumped to 50-32 the following season, the team’s second in Oklahoma City after moving from Seattle.

“[Ollie's] mindset, his professionalism, every single day. And we all watched that, we all wanted to be like that, and it rubbed off on Russell [Westbrook], myself, Jeff Green, James Harden. And you know, everybody that comes through now, there’s a standard you’ve got to live up to as a Thunder player. And that started with Kevin Ollie.”

Only 10% of the fanbase and 0% of the front office has that kind of forward thinking.

I was okay for keeping Mike for one more season so we wouldn't have to be paying 2 coaches during a losing season...

But hey.
Now we don't have to worry about paying him, so why not start the process of teaching the players a new system when he was inevitably going to be gone?

Now we can get an early start on a new system that'll take some time to learn, hopefully with a good coach. And not have to pay Mike.

Works out. If it's a good coach....
