2014 NBA Draft Thread

Y'all acting like doctors ain't going to do every test possible on his back.
Just like Greg Oden got every possible test, right?
Pretty sure he was red flagged, but the Blazers still picked him.
That's the point, sometimes your body just fails. Not saying Embiid will, but some things you just can't help. I mean the best example of serious injuries going right is Baron Davis. He blow out both knees before he got the league and still did well.
DeJuan Blair has no cartilage in his knees and he still got drafted and is still getting them checks. Jared Sullinger had back problems too.
So you're comparing Embiid to DeJuan Wagner and Jared Sullinger? You're off to a great start.

I do agree that everyone's body is different but certain injuries are more cause of concern than others.
I am so happy right now

They should do the actual lottery in front of everyone. It would prove that it's not rigged

they say that it takes too long. which is BS.

I know damn well some of you would watch the thing for 8 hours and many more would tune in.

my whole thing about it being rigged is why the **** would they do the Cavs so many favors?

League gains nothing from the Cleveland Cavaliers being relevant.

doubting the lottery selections is the last thing on my mind. if there is even the slightest chance that it is in the cavs favor, then there is still a chance. it's just fortunate for them to land it over and over again :lol

If the Cavs feel like Kyrie could leave they should dangle him to the Magic for 4 and 11.

They're not trading Kyrie for more picks. That's 110% guaranteed.

It'll be for a superstar or rising superstar, if he is traded..

Funny thing is people complain about tanking and then complain about the lottery being random.

Personally I think the process is fine, this was just worst possible outcome.

Definitely haven't heard any ideas that were actual improvements.

So how can the process be fine if it yields the worst possible outcome? :lol

"The Cavs are literally going to pass on Valanciunas, Drummond, Noel, and Embiid in four consecutive drafts which is pretty fun."

Damn.

"The Cavs are literally going to pass on Valanciunas, Drummond, Noel, and Embiid in four consecutive drafts which is pretty fun."

Damn.

I know it's crazy man, but here me out... they had their reasons.

Jonas - didn't like that he was taking a year off before entering league. Cavs wanted to act fast to try and speed up the rebuild. we know now that it didn't work as planned but that's just how they felt going in. *shrugs*

Dummond - they really wanted Beal but when he went #3 they panicked. The idea of a VERY RAW Thompson and Drummond (he was very raw coming in you know this) rubbed them the wrong way. Chris Grant was obsessed with getting a SG to go with Irving and jumped the gun *shrugs*

Noel - jury is still out for him. Hasn't played a game yet. Could be great. Could be a huge bust. Bennett same thing. That pick was still a crazy one. no doubt.

Embid - who knows what they do?

Damn.

What's so shocking here?

Valanciunas has been irrelevant since being drafted. And no one seen that coming from Drummond.

Noel is frail body, wasn't ready to play right away. And Embiid has back problems.

What exactly are you "damning" about?

Summary: they screwed up

I'm just telling you how it is.

I don't agree with all the picks they made, but it's not like they drafted 4 Kwame Browns.

I honestly don't even mind the Bennett pick, it's the Waiters and Thompson picks that bother me.

What's the reason for dion waiters pick and then Anthony Bennett when you already have Tristan Thompson ?
