2014 NBA Draft Thread

Acting like the cavs are winning a chip anytime soon with that rim protection statement, im going with drew or bari not a project center thats been playing ball for 4 yrs when the other two were born to be ball players

In your example, you can win a championship without a Kawhi... but it's a lot harder to win without a defensive anchor/rim protector like Chandler.

He looks great in that clip.. if he's healthy, you have to go with him.

Higher floor than wiggins? :{

Wiggins floor is kawhi, embiids floor is tyson chandler, excluding injury risk.

Kawhi is a awesome player in the Spurs system, but wings who aren't elite shot creators are pretty easily replaceable, rim protecting c's who are agile enough to also defend the screen and roll are exceedingly rare and ones who are good offensive players, ie catch, the ball, hit a hook shot. even less common.

Tiago Splitter, Asik, out here making 10 mill a year for that very reason.

Elite perimeter defenders who can go for 15 off athleticism alone are easily replaceable? Plus wiggins can definitley create his own shot. Rim protecting bigs come every other draft. Embiid is special, no doubt, but hes gonna struggle offensively his first few years, andhe might never hit his offensive potential, and you passed up on 2 franchise players for a defensive big.

except they don't.

I don't know how else to explain this.

1. A replacement level center is worse than a replacement level wing. You can always find, Carlos Delfino's, Jimmy Butlers, to give you solid wing, they are way easier to hide on defense, bigs are more difficult to replace, thus they get bigger contracts, and if they can't play d, your team will stink at d.

2. You have to have rim protection to win. period.

3. The combination of size, agility, and shot blocking ability is far less common then you are making it out to be. Ibaka, Prime Tyson Chandler, deandre jordan, these guys not common.

4. His floor, you mentioned prime tyson chandler, he's a significantly better player than Kawhi. Tyson in his prime was a around a top12-20 player. Kawhis not there yet.

5. Are you not watching the finals, OKC has two of the top 15 players and they are getting blown out by 30+ because they can't protect the rim. :lol

The hell is wrong with you Osh?

We're putting together TEAM CANADA. You should be proud.

Stop making stupid posts.

Wiggins is and will always be your dude. Just be happy for the dude.

2 Canadians going #1 back to back!?!?

Steve Nash weeps.

I would love for it to happen. :lol

Going to Milwaukee or Cleveland that basically guarantees a return to Toronto after his rookie deal is up. :p

For gods sake I was watching Team Canada highlights the other day on YouTube that had Thompson, Bennett and WIggins all balling together. It's amazing.

and I really do think if the Lakers didn't have to give Nash 9 mil next year the Cavs may have pulled a Brooklyn

:lol

1. You just said ******* carlo delfino and jimmy butler. Man just stop. Wiggins was better than those guys as a junior at hs.
2/3.True, and you can get those guys anywhere. Miami heat got a guy in the middle of the season that nobody wanted. They come every other draft. Ibaka hibbert davis noel DJ drummond.
4. I'll respectfully disagree.

I would hate for Wiggins to go to the Bucks

Although for how much hype Greek Freak gets, Wiggins and him should be a duo for the future. Personally I like Greek Freak but I'm just not as high on him as most
