2014 NBA Summer League (Orlando: July 5-11) & (Las Vegas: July 11-21)

Speaking of Kidd and positions he said Giannis will be getting time as a point Gaurd and could eventually be the starter.

Milwaukee is serious about this for the regular season, maybe even as the starter at the point. Antetokounmpo is serious about this

The article also touches a little bit on this Jabari argument once again.

He will get more time, here and almost certainly into training camp. The Bucks see the possibilities, from putting opponents in matchup hell to creating more versatility so the second-year player from Greece fits with Jabari Parker, the second pick in the draft who some teams think can be a small forward, Antetokounmpo’s primary position last season, or power forward.
Antetokounmpo at point guard and Knight at shooting guard would be a strain because neither have great range, but would work because Knight could defend the point guards and Antetokounmpo the bigger opponent in the backcourt. Then it could be Parker, Ersan Ilyasova and Larry Sanders in the front court.

McDermott... damn I hope his game carries over to the real season.. Dunleavy got at least 5-8 open jumpers a game.. imagining Snell and McDermott getting those same looks..

OKB there's gotta be times where Bari will be on the floor the same time as Ilyasova or Henson. Wouldn't he have to be playing the 3 then?

bari situation has him playing the 4. If he played for Chicago, lakers, Raptors, suns, or any other team he would be slotted at the 3. But being that him and the Greek freak are the future of course Bari will slide to the 4.

thats not really the point, on a terrible team like the bucks you will see many gimmick lineups, his primary position is 4, and will likely never be a full time 3 without completely remaking his body.

Well any team interested in playing defense and winning games will play him at the 4, ask Jabari, he played 4 at Duke, He's playing 4 now, he played 4 for Team USA at u18.

but somehow he's going to magically become a 3.

huh.

Whatever position you've played in college isn't always the best indicator of what you're going to be in the NBA.

There are people who were 2s in college that needed to learn the 1 in the NBA. I'm sure there were college 4s that needed to learn to play the 3 in the NBA.

Wiggins was a forward in college and it sounds like the Cavs see him as a big 2.

Right now, Jabari thinks he's an nba 4 yes. Maybe he will be. Or maybe once he plays 20 nba games he'll find out he was wrong.

You act as if the position you play in high school or college lock you in to the position you'll be forever. You're also being vague about the "well if any team is interested in playing defense and winning they'll play him at the 4", if Parker was on the Spurs or Bulls or Wizards etc. he would be a 3 and their teams would be just fine. A lot of it very much depends on the team and the system.

He can play both positions, it really doesn't matter

Man it's disgusting how much Burke is looking off Exum
I really wanted him to go to a squad without a PG. I want the ball in his hands at all times for entertainment purposes. Dude is electric.

Was very disappointed when Orlando passed.

Yeah his handles look shaky for a PG though, especially compared to today's point guards.

He's extremely right hand dominant, but he gon' be nice. I like Payton better but that's just me

Exum is 18-19 and basically a HSer, while Payton was a 3yr starter in college.

I'll be extremely shocked if Exum is not better than Payton in 4-5 years. He can spend the next 5 seasons improving his handle, and he'll still only be 24

That's why I said "that's just me"

Personal preference.

Payton is still very young for his class. It'll depend on jumpshot development and tightening their ballhandling for both of then.

Goal posts keep moving on the Bari discussion, I'm done.
