Few quick thoughts.

Kobe last night was amazing. Hell of a final game. Thanks for the years of entertainment. Respect MAMBA.

Congratulations on the Warriors 73-9 record. Legendary season.

Fair well to coach Wittman. He took the Wizards roster as far as he could and did a great job at developing young players. Word is Scott Brooks is who we are pursuing. Don't know what that hire would mean for our pursuit of KD. Hopefully it'll help.

You don't gotta go around trying to cast a shadow on everything and make it less stellar for other people who happened to enjoy themselves and enjoy the experience.

You don't go to a wedding and interrupt everyone that's incredibly happy just to say they met each other at a one night stand or that one of the wedded is cheating on the other. Just let the damn moment be the damn moment and not try to ruin everyone's happiness.

They're both facts, but being that guy that's simply trying to throw dirt on something, just why? There's no point in just tryna make something less enjoyable or memorable for others by being all negative yknow
This is much, MUCH different than that, first off. Every wedding I've been to is in acknowledgment of imperfection but a commitment ceremony despite those imperfections.

This is a stubborn refusal to acknowledge OR EVEN ALLOW any criticism. To run with tour comparison, this is like someone pointing out... EVER... even a year after they married... pointing out that they met on a one night stand, and someone coming through, "HEY! Stop being negative!!"

It's a stubborn denial, which is much different than 2 people acknowledging that each other is imperfect but they're going to commit anyways.

SECONDLY, calling it 'downing everything' is exactly what I'm talking about in my first point. I count how many times I post anything remotely critical of Kobe, and the reason is to make sure I'm not DBDing or Jumpmaning the thread. It's still a celebration in here, a HEAVY celebration. Same in the Lakers' thread, my damn team's thread.

But I'm 'downing everything'? Nah, dog. Party's still lit. You just want it to be unanimous praise.

No.

Yeah, I can see it now. "Yo, KD just put up 55."

"Psshh, whatever. Kobe put up 60 in his last game after 20 years. Nobody does it like Mamba."

That's EXACTLY the reason he'd be brought up... Just like it's been for the past irrelevant three years of his career. His fan boys can't let go

I'm sorry, but last night was one of my favorite Kobe game of all times. favorite =/= best, before you quiff your panties. I'm saying it was one of my favorites, from the anxiety of the game. The theatrics. The rough beginning. The Mamba rising. The 18 in the 1st. Then the 20 points. Then the 30 points. Then the 40.... My dude dropped 60. He hasn't done that since 09. 0 freakin 9. Let that marinate for a minute...how much has happened since 2009. And on the very last game of a monster career, he brought the fire one last time. And grabbed the victory. Vintage. But different. A new breed. Although he took a bunch of 3s, he didnt settle for his normal elbow, pumpfake fadaways last night. He drove it in for layups and straight midrange jumpers.

funny guys mention how many points guys would have if they took 30-40-50 shots...like who? Gimme some names. Curry? Of course. Who else. KD? Maybe. It's probable. Who else though? Those are both 2 historic scorers. But who else? We've seen bron say if he could take 40 he'd get 70.....lie detector came back...that was a lie. Son averaged 40 shots, scored 40 points.

50 shots in itself is a feat. I bet you guys saying its no big deal haven't even hooped before to say pulling 50 shots is cake. It takes mad effort in itself. Hell it takes mad effort it press the shot button 50 times on 2k! Dude showed last night why he was one of the best, if not the pinnacle of singular scorers the game has ever seen. And truth is...he would've had more if he saved a couple of those 3s and drove in a few more times. Much like the 81 pt game, there were plenty more opportunities for more points, but the decision was made for different shots. Those 2 airballed 3s could've easily been 2 layups. Missed 2 freethrows, could've been 2 more points. Bruh could've ended near 70 if he had changed some shots. guarantee he went back and watched the tape and critiqued where he could've done better.

one of the best games I've seen. I was on the edge of my seat as he went from mid 30s to ******* 60

dude had the energy to go 5/5 and 4/4 at the line to end the game

that's after shooting 45 times and playing 38 minutes of basketball

truly incredible, the man was dying out there but he sucked it up to give us one last show

He said in his postgame presser "They were pouring champagne on me and I was like 'Champagne is for championships.'"

Yeah, it looks like they are pouring champagne on you to me. :lol

So fake and contrived. :lol
i know you cracked a smile when he hit 60 tho.
Nnnnope. I was disgusted at how much hype was building and how drunk everyone was; EVERYONE. Missed his first five shots and people were still excited. Hits 3s at the end and everyone excited. Literally, he could have done FAR worst and everyone would have still been excited, on some, "I'm just gonna cry myself to sleep now" vibe. The excitement wasn't because it was a stellar performance; the excitement was there because people wanted it to be exciting.

Oh, it took me back to when I was first introduced to Kobe, for sure. Reminded me of everything I can't stand about him and couldn't stand about him and got tired of hearing from his fans EARLY.

Wait, my love for the Lakers has never faltered. Ever. Let's clear that right on up. Kobe is NOT the Lakers. There was a Lakers long before him, there will continue to be afterwards. :Nthat

no lie...after he made that one shot and utah called the time out and homie grabbed him around the waist and he was so drained and tired...I got nervous...I saw how tired he was...I had only ever seen that look one other time...April 12th...2013. Dude was insanely drained that game but kept pushing.

I saw that look last night that no matter what happened, he wasn't going to stop. Dude was only supposed to play the last 6 minutes of the 4th, but he just kept gunning. I was just hoping it didn't end in injury. But..:smokin my dude didn't disappoint. Game was legendary, no matter how the haters want to package it.
