But guys, I thought part of the Cubs plan was getting David Price?

This can't be happening.

So Dombrowski has not learned the price of giving up prospects for one big bullpen arm and having nothing around him and how costly it is to spend big money on an arm that loses almost all effectiveness when 2 MPH's disappear. I love it.

FWIW, Joba was one of the top prospects in baseball. I don't think hindsight makes that incorrect. One of the most mishandled prospects of I've ever seen :{

I'm a die hard Sox fan, and I'm both shocked and applauding the deal.  I'm shocked that he ended up in Boston, but I'm applauding for getting the money.  Which one of us can truly say that, if the money was thrown at us, which one of us wouldn't take that money?  Go ahead...I'll wait.  I'm ecstatic now to see how many Brinks trucks are backed up into Greinke's backyard

:{ :lol @ 7/217
Cubs were interested but it was highly improbable the Rickets were going to spend 200 mill on any pitcher.
Congrats Red Sox :lol

Jebus Christmas at 30 million a season :x... I remember Manny getting 20 million was HUGE 14 years ago...

As a Yankees fan - LOVING IT.

Dude is going to be a CC ... maybe a good two or three years and then downhill ....

200m+ that's kray kray .....

SMH!!!

The Red Sox will now likely trade one of their starting pitchers and try to recoup prospects lost on the Kimbrel deal.

David Price in the regular season: 104-56, 3.10 ERA
David Price in the postseason: 0-7, 5.27 ERA

i know some of you don't believe in small sample sizes and post season stats...but ****, man :lol

I like Price but damn, don't think he's worth that. Yankees have had success off him a good amount of times too. I was scared we would offer him a stupid deal. Happy we didn't.
