There's probably some truth to it, especially from the way Brothers worded it.

I can understand Fultz wanting a shot to run an offense but Brett caused this too. Instead of forcing him off ball when HE KNEW it wasn’t gonna work, should’ve started with him as the back up point from the beginning.
Brett was the main one insinuating over the course of TC that Fultz was a PG. Him as the backup point from the start is 20 minutes he can run the show rather than 10 minutes being offball with TJ
BINGOYes but Fultz came into the league as a combo guard. That’s what we drafted him for. Because we thought he’d be such a great fit next to Simmons in the backcourt, not because we thought he’d be a great backup to Simmons. So Brett was at least trying to see if he could make it work with him as that combo guard they thought they were getting...or if he’d HAVE to play PG in order for him to have a chance at looking good.
I’m telling you guys though...if we could get D-Lo from the Nets this could help all parties tremendously. I wouldn’t mind swapping Fultz and Josh Jackson either. Jackson would be a great player to have vs the Celtics and Raptors with his ability to guard multiple positions. Both the Nets and Suns would be good spots for him where there wouldn’t be immediate pressure on Fultz to live up to being the #1 pick.
Hmmm. JoJo mentions how him and Fultz runs the PnR well together but Brett barely uses it lol

We all want this over with.Talks of Cleveland wanting Fultz
Hope we find out the news of his specialist visit either today, if not tomorrow. Want this **** to be over with man
I wouldn't go as far as to say there's NOTHING in cleveland. I would gladly take Sexton for Fultz but thats not happening. We all want this over with.
There's nothing in Cleveland I would want for Fultz. Either Orlando for Simmons and a pick or Brooklyn for Russell
Would hate to give him away for peanuts and THEN he figures it out
Still gonna need a G. Ideally we dont want TJ as the full time back up. He's gonna get roastedI wouldn't go as far as to say there's NOTHING in cleveland. I would gladly take Sexton for Fultz but thats not happening.
My ideal scenario would be a 3 and D vet that can lead the second unit with Shamet.
Woj article says the team still WANTS Fultz to be here and to be the back up point off the bench
Nothing makes sense. I just want the kid to play
He's shown enough to be the back up point. Yes we all love TJ but he sucks when given extended minutes. The kid HAS played and hasn't really shown much. Unless this diagnosis shows a major injury and a plan to rehab, we've pretty much seen everything he can do.
I truly believe that it's an injury that's causing his lack of confidence with his shot. I think he will be fine career wise but my patience is wearing thin for him and his role on this team
I definitely agree with this. I wouldnt say his development is too slow but Brown has the shortest leash with him. He's never gonna learn and develop if Brown takes him for a turnoverFultz has been leading the second unit ever since Butler came. And he has not taken advantage of that at all
Is he a PG or a two way guard? Because if it's the latter, he should be able to adapt whether Ben is on the floor or not.
If he would have been benched to start this season, BB would have gotten crucified. He was just trying to give Fultz some burn to get his confidence back.
I will give Fultz credit though. Because while his shot has suffered, he has had a decent impact on other areas of the game.
Believe me, I'm one of the biggest Fultz apologists out there and have been from the beginning. I'm just being realistic. We've been spoiled but rookies becoming superstars their first year. Fultz is showing an improvement from last year. His development is just too slow for this team, especially in this win now mindset.
I love Fultz but if we can get a vet who can score 15-20 off the bench and play defense, I'm taking that in a heartbeat.
