Nash had the best ball control in half court sets too. He's the only PG that I know that would dribble around the key to draw defenders or interrupt defensive sets. He would literally dribble circles around the defense. He was revolutionary.

AI has a lifetime contract with Reebok. He's doing just fine.

He only gets $800K per year, most of which goes to creditors and ex-wife. He has a $32MM trust from Reebok which he can’t access until he’s 55 and his wife even gets half of that. Let’s not re-write history here

Revolutionize is a strong ******* term in sports. It was a perfect marriage between player and system. It's true though, that Nash did pave the way for the Steph Curry's. Or was it D'antoni?

I have no issues with Nash's MVPs. It doesn't interfere with Shaq's dominance. It's just fodder.

Thats cool, but his playing-style is unquestionably like Nash. Iverson was a score-first PG while Paul sets plays up. You can visually see the difference if you compare the two, it's pretty apparent. Nash and Paul dribble forever while Iverson takes it to hole to draw defenders in or plays iso.
Obviously he couldn't emulate Iverson to the T because they are two different people. However, you can bet he tried his hardest to.

I'm sure he did, but his style is completely different than Iverson's. He plays alot more methodical, pass first and he shoots mid-range alot more than AI. People like Westbrook and Wall are more like AI, they use their athleticism and speed to score. Westbrook and Wall even use speed for crossovers rather than misdirection, which is Irving, CP3, and Nash's method.

I understand what you're saying that you see the resemblance to Nash. But they did not aspire to play similarly to Nash, it just happened to be that way. Just like how 99.999999999999% of players aspire to play like MJ but probably end up reminding us of a different player.

I see some Nash in Steph.

His ability to navigate screens for open shots/ lanes and broken down defensive sets is Nash like.

Steph even dribbles in circles just like him.
That's fundamental basketball, Nash is getting credit for it just because it hasn't been done this way for a while.

Yeah, but my point is a good amount of PGs are influenced from Nash's game he had a big impact on today's game, as does AI.

I think that kids coming up attach themselves to certain archetypes of players that they admire.

Kobe, MJ, Dr. J all the same archetype and people gravitated towards this. You don’t really see this with centers because you have to be freakishly tall and most big men especially back in the day didn’t have a sexy game.

Ask John Wall or DSJ or Westbrook a few players they looked up too and I bet that in their group of names A.I will be at the top.

The Nash’s of the world are for those that may me less athletically/ vertically gifted. TBH Nash’s game is prolly the least “revolutionary”. Jerry West was doing a lot of the same ****. Nash just mastered it and fine tuned it to a mordern game.

Now in the past 5 years we’re seeing some new ****. Go to any court and you’ll see kids pulling up from 30 with no hesitation. Steph changed the way the game is played.

Yeah, when I think of Curry and CP3, I see less gifted, more super-skilled and Kyrie to a lesser extent. While people like Westbrook and Wall are born with Speed and hops.

Y'all got a ****** with a hip problem and Channing Frye.

Funny how each of the three teams somehow ended up as the loser of the trade, as far as this season is concerned. The Cavs could've done better had they been willing to trade the Brooklyn pick, but now the franchise that drafted Anthony Bennett with the 1st pick has to draft their next franchise player with the 8th pick. Good luck with that.

I still say the Cavs now are better than the dumpster fire they were with IT mid-season. If only they kept Wade though.

Definitely not reading 1.3k posts lol someone post the cliff notes

And yes Bron does need help. A damn guard who can take you off the dribble. Sucks when all his guards are old or ***

Well he ha had this one guard but kept calling him "kid", acting like he was his estranged father and rubbed him the wrong way so now he's left with George Hill

I’m no doctor but LeBron caught a clavicle to the dome, fell straight down to one knee then went to the locker room. Showed no signs of neck strains but had a slight limp and dazed look.

He comes back and passes up layups, drives and wide open 3’s. I don’t think neck strains cause that level of reluctance. That’s blurry vision from a concussion. It was sealed when he came to the presser protecting his eyes from the lights and wearing headphones to limit loud noises.

All these are symptoms of a concussion, which would probably cause him to miss the next game and effectively lose the series.
