The sad thing is, if Lonzo played the same exact game you wouldn't have this energy towards Simmons. They're very similar players

The problem with Simmons is... like he's gonna be a star for sure. But literally not having a jumper period. absolutely none. Like won't even try to see if maybe this one will go in for some reason, bad.

You look at Giannis and at least he's wired with enough of a jumper that he can actually obtain a jumper and he has been. Simmons doesn't have a jumper to the point where he will actually never have one. Like the shooting coaches don't even know if he's using the right hand to shoot. Which really ****s up his ceiling and really ****s up what's needed out of your star in a situation like this.

They know his shooting hand needs to change. Goal this season was to develop his other skills and then switch hands in the off season

Simmons scores more than Ball can though. They're both not shooting threats right now and can be overly passive but still help in many other ways. Both are overly (imo) criticized in part because their ceilings are misplaced to begin with. Either way, my point remains, your energy towards Simmons rn would def not be the same if Ball played the same game
