2020-21 NBA Offseason thread: Officially a wrap

Not really agreeing or disagreeing that LeBron is bigger than the Lakers but what does that actually mean?
Not really a quantifiable thing but you just feel it. The same way we're having the same conversation about the brand of the Lakers, it can be had for Bron. I just think Bron is the single most important thing in basketball.

Ehh, two way street. She’s been embarrassing them publicly for years now with her mid life crisis.
Totally fair and IDK everything about their lives, but the line I would have to cross for me to come out sideways against my mother is WAY WAY out there. But that's me applying my personal beliefs and circumstances.

Facts, she's been running around like a sket. Then she's going on radio shows bragging about being with this Ball player and this rapper.

In a league where more people have allegiances to players than teams, I don’t see how this is even arguable.

Because the Lakers are different from every other team. That ain't even flexing that's just facts. We know this. Y'all know the Lakers have biggest fan base by far, y'all know Laker fans are extreme and over the top.

All these all-time greats have helped the Lakers brand become what it is. Magic leaves and the brand kept building and winning, Shaq leaves kept building and winning with Kobe. Hit a trash period and back at the top again with Bron and AD. You can't compare the Lakers with other teams, no team has this track record.

Not really a quantifiable thing
This is what I thought :lol. The Lakers being bigger than just about every other team in all of sports is quantifiable and not really the same thing
There is no way people here think Bron isn’t 100% responsible for any and all of that team’s success. People aren’t going there because Rob Lowe is in the FO
Why weren't people saying this when he went to Miami tho :lol. Pat riley was getting hella credit for that

Lakers finally hit on 1 free agent and MLGA suddenly forgets a decade spent on trade machine and photoshop making their wet dream team

What basis are you using for that? The Chips? Or the Money?

Cause other teams have more chips than the Lakers do and if its the money...

On two separate instances, LeBron has propped up the economy of an entire city.

With those players, no winning wasn't in the cards, hence why they were flipped and I gave credit for flipping them. My bad if that wasn't clear.

So winning was in the cards because teams saw them as winning players. Again whether it's them together or flipping 'em. They was able to do what they had to do to win. It ain't like they just traded a bunch of Kwame Browns.

This thread and some media folks thought the Lakers "gave up the house!!". :lol

Consistent success + popularity + value. Lakers are in a league of their own. So if LeBron is bigger than that..how?

Agian them not me. I was very vocal about the fact that I didn't value these players that highly. I was when they were Lakers still am now with the exception of Ingram, but wasn't and still am not on the "Next KD wagon" Everyone else is bad.

Difference of opinion then.

I deem LeBron to be pretty successful and I personally couldn't care less about championships that predate me being alive. This is a wash to me honestly.

Popularity. Not quantifiable but I think LeBron is more popular than the Lakers.

Value. I think Bron's value is harder to amass being that he's a person as opposed to a corporate entity but again opinion based.

Its not worth going back and forth over but I'm rolling with Bron over anything else basketball related in terms of importance.
