You can absolutely be overly ball dominant and still rack up assists. They kinda go hand in hand

To a point, yeah.

But how many ball dominant guys can you name that ALSO had the league's scoring leader on their team? 3 different times with three different players at that.

KD, PG, and Beal had their best scoring seasons when playing with Russ.

Topic on the show today.

Yet Russ is viewed as a ball-hog. Interesting.
In the vast majority of cases you have to be a “ball-hog” to lead the league in points/assists. Ball-hog isn’t always a negative thing.

Also nobody cares about those guys regular season ppg  Hence the Playoff P jokes and KD leaving OKC.

Outside of the barbershop Russ is viewed as a guy who makes poor decisions in the postseason and does not even try to be useful when he does not have the ball in his hands, this includes defense.

The complete disinterest in doing anything off the ball really hurts your team because if a title is the goal he has to….. come off the ball. Too many bricks and turnovers.

What narrative? He rides Bron's coattails to a title it won't change whatever narrative that exists.

"He's a loser player that'll never win anything"
"He can't be part of a championship team cause he won't change his style of play"
"Too selfish, boneheaded, blah, blah blah"
"Lakers got worse"

And all the other jokes and slander that y'all been putting out there over the years.

Can't wait for them narratives to switch up after Brodie lifts up Larry O. Melo as well to a certain extent.
A team with Bron & AD are favorites no matter who is 3-12  One of the most talented duos in the history of the sport. They can 3 peat and Russ is the same dude.

No narratives changed for KD in Golden State, you saw how Dray viewed him & what he said himself after he won.

Interesting that wasn't the energy at all when the trade happened. If y'all already switching up though, then fine.

No narrative will need to exist when Father Time knocks out The Filmmaker for stretches of the season again and Street Clothes does the usual. It’ll be up to Westbrook and THT

Russell Westbrook failing as a first/second option and then succeeding as a third/fourth wouldn't change much based on how people have judged players previously.

What about Harden? Cause that what he was when KD & Kyrie were healthy.

You could have made an argument that Harden was at least the second option and I would entertain an argument around him being the most important player on the team.

You can't do that with Westbrook.

Season hasn't even started yet. None of us have a single clue as to how the offense will be ran or what role Russ will play.

How do you know? The season hasn't even played out. Maybe Bron preserves himself and takes a back seat.

Harden was absolutely the 3rd guy when KD & Kyrie were healthy although it was only for like a dozen games.
