Not saying this is applicable to everyone post-divorce, but I've worked with a lot of older dudes during my time in high finance. A lot of them went through divorce during their late 50's early 60's. They were pretty wealthy guys, and once the divorce settled--They got away from their spouse of 25+ years and started dating women half their age. Going on trips, messing with high-end escorts, throwing wild parties etc.
Side story: I used to work right next to the Conrad Hotel in downtown NYC. One of my MD's was going through a NASTY divorce. After the dust settled, homie was really going through the motions. Him and I ended up being really tight. So, he started dating this 25 yr old (I was in my early 20's). She told him her friend was interested in tagging along one night, but he needed to bring a friend. Homie invited me, and we went on this helicopter ride at night around NYC. End of the night, my MD got all this bud and coke and threw a party in his room. I never did coke ever my life, but have been around it. MD eventually tells me to bounce with the chick and gives me a hotel key card for a room down the floor
I was pretty surprised to see this myself, as I thought "Who would be doing that kinda **** at 60", but you'd be surprised man. A lot of these dudes married the first girl that said yes to them, kept them in a ball and chain throughout their marriage, kids finally grew up and left the crib, and the couple got the divorce.
Kinda typical from my observations actually.
