SM is my hometown, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who wasn’t pretty wealthy or is in his/her 20s, single and likes to go out and can comfortably afford the rent (probably with the help of a roommate). Anyone not in those categories can get much better value elsewhere and still be in a nice place in SoCal.

South Bay is great. My brother lives in Wilmington.
heart of the harbor :pimp:

Eastside or Westside ?

I'm disappointed that the Lakers didn't retain Dudz as an assistant, but the Mavs probably offered a more prominent role and money.

There's definitely value having him around, but at the same time the average age of this roster is like early 30s.

Sure, but devoting an entire LA Times column to it and calling it "crazy" for the Lakers to let him go is pretty ridiculous.

Imagine an entire week where we don't talk about Bron, Kobe, Steph or player rankings

Thread would be...

Basically all the cities/neighborhoods in LA between LAX and Long Beach that are fairly close to ocean. Manhattan Beach, El Segundo, Hermosa Beach, San Pedro, Torrance, Palos Verdes, Wilmington.
What’s North Hollywood looking like? I got baddie out there , but she in a studio so I never visit :lol :{

Truthfully, the part of the San Fernando Valley where North Hollywood is one of the areas in LA that I’m least familiar with. I’m not sure if I’ve ever been in NoHo besides just driving through.

Someone else going to help on that one. moonman818 moonman818 ?

For everyone that’s bought a crib or thinking about were you sure that’s where you wanted to/want to live long term? I’m obviously aware buying the best move if you can afford it because of all the associated financial benefits of being a homeowner but how certain were you that you wanted the stay in that area long-term when you made the purchase? That’s my biggest hang up right now.

“Almost”??? But seriously, was your property affected by the pandemic? I know a lot of folks telling me about how their neighbors units have been unoccupied for months, in some cases a year because of folks not being able to afford rent. Then there’s buildings giving all sort of incentives to move-in as well. Curious to hear directly from an owner.
My tenant is a single mother working in healthcare. I wasn't gonna say **** if she didn't pay but the checks kept coming, she never missed a month, which I was grateful for since I really needed the money. And just for that I'm not raising the rent when the lease is up. Hell I'd give her a discount if I didn't have to pay for upkeep and property taxes.

i dont have kids so im looking at a 3-5 year stay.
things change whether its work, or incoming spouse ( and then kids) which you can then re-assess the situation

those with kids may be looking for that " forever home" now

I live pretty much adjacent to Noho in Toluca Lake. It's a dope area, young professionals, hipsters, plenty of celebrities live in the area, arts district, restaurants and bars are good. Pretty centrally located valley wise can get to Hollywood, Glendale, Studio City all within like 10-20 min barring traffic. Universal Studios Hollywood right there as well.

Sounds very conservative to me. Did this area vote for Trump in 2020? I would say yes but need to confirm.

Nope purely a math trade for me hence why I'm doing an IO. As little money out of my pocket as possible. I don't expect to stay here forever but to the extent that it's not costing me more than what my rent was I'm fine with it.
