None of this make sense ...The Jaguars haven’t even been around 3 decades. But they had success with Mark Brunell and he was their starter for years. Steve Young played well into 1999, and the 49ers got consistent qb play from Jeff Garcia after that. Hell while we’re at it Kap > anyone the Jets have had at qb the past 2 decades or so.
Here’s my thing. The Jets issues go beyond qb. Hell the 49ers have gone to the Super Bowl with Kap and Jimmy at qb. The Jets made their afc title game runs with Mark Sanchez, so qb isn’t the end all be all. You can win without a qb.
Sanchez was considered a top prospect coming out. They traded up to draft him like he was one. Granted the team had success with him when they had a proper formula even if his performance wasn’t all that good. They used a high second rounder on Geno Smith (I’ll give him a pass because he was never expected to be that guy) and they traded up to get Darnold. Jacksonville was a mess those years. But I could’ve seen Sanchez or Geno having better careers with the Jim Harbaugh era 49ers. Sanchez may have been ruined already though as Singletary was the coach his first two seasons. Darnold would’ve been in a better situation with Shanahan and the 49ers.
I really can’t think of any dysfunction the Jags have had. They’ve just been bad. The 49ers were a mess when Chip Kelly was the coach, but it always seemed like it was something with the Jets, be it the Tebow foolishness, Geno getting punched out by his teammate, I know it’s other incidents but I’m too lazy to look them up.
Yeah, there’s only a few teams with stability at qb. But like I touched on earlier. You can win without a top qb. The 2009-10 Jets had that formula. They haven’t figured it out since.
I agree, they’ve tried to build around a qb, but they’ve failed miserably both times. It does go for a lot of teams. The browns got ****ted on all the time on here prior to last season and deservedly so. The Broncos have been a mess since Super Bowl 50, they deserve the scrutiny too. The Raiders have been a bigger mess than the Jets for almost 2 decades now, so to be fair I’m not just singling out the Jets.
In all honesty I hope they get it right with this pick. They got just under 4 weeks to do all the necessary homework to make sure they nail this pick. No excuses for them if they don’t.

Jags been around for 4 decades 90' to 20s.
You said the Jets have been looking for stability for 50 years. Lets see ... Pennington play for the Jets for how many years? Before than Ken? Thats a big difference from them being good. However, the 49ers have not had a stabled QB, Jeff Garcia Alex Smith, Kap, etc .. please show me the stability you're talking about??? Stability = Big Ben, T Brady, Brees, etc ...
The Jets had success with Brett, Chad, Mark ... besides Brett in his twilight years .. Chad and Mark are inferior to the 49ers QBs so ... where's the dysfunction??
You also said, the Jets are where Young QBs go to suffer yet you only name Geno, which was given plenty of chances and Sam .... yet you dont get on the 49ers for releasing Alex, then blackedballing Kap and now given up on Jimmy???
Then you don't talk about Jags .. Leftwich, Gabbert, amd Bortles?? LoL
Man Im not even going to continue bro ....
Unfortunately I have to agree with a lot of this as a Niners fan. The Jets were straight with Favre and Sanchez and gave those SB pats teams all they could handle. It’s a shame Rex didn’t work out, I still think he’s a great coach. Our Chip Kelly era was the equivalent to Adam Gase and up until now(hopefully) Shannahan brought in a bunch of average to trash qb’s.None of this make sense ...

LoL ...You’re getting technical with the decades stuff. The Jaguars started playing in 1995. We’re in 2021. They’ve played 26 seasons. 95-05 05-15, 15-21. That’s 26 years. A decade is 10 years, it isn’t limited to just 90-99 etc.
They didn’t release Alex. They traded him for a 2nd round pick. As for Kap, the NFL blackballed him. He absolutely should’ve gotten picked up by a team in 2017. However the 49ers coming off a 2-14 season, new coach and gm, were within reason to let him go, especially with his contract. Where they messed up was replacing him with bum *** Brian Hoyer and drafting Solomon Thomas instead of Watson or Mahomes. But that’s neither here nor there. As for Jimmy, getting average production from a guy is one thing. Getting average production from a guy making $25 million a year who can’t stay healthy is something else.
I’ve had my facts straight though. You might not like them. Anyhow we don’t need to continue unless you insist.
LoL ...
Im good from ... no need to continue ... i already know all I needed to know ....
Listen the Niners are just minding our business waiting to pick whoever the Jags and Jets don’t. We don’t want any problems.
Please doY'all talking just to talk. Do I need to bring back trivia until the draft?
I see we have restarted the Jets QB hype cycle again
I suddenly hate the Jets even more after reading the last few pages.
Why is that?I suddenly hate the Jets even more after reading the last few pages.

Would Aaron Rodgers retire from football to host Jeopardy?
Aaron Rodgers is extremely smart.profootballtalk.nbcsports.com
"Rodgers wants the ratings to spike once he takes over [from Dr. Oz], and they will," because, me
Lol he just told Kenny Mayne he has 5-7 years left with or without the Packers.
