I couldn't recall another back in recent memory that carried the rock like Robinson did last season. Maybe Henry I guess? Robinson was literally the only RB taking snaps week after week it seemed.

Our 2nd leading rusher was Minshew.... and he didn’t play half the season SMH

Didn’t the backup running back go on the covid list for like 4 months? I thought one of the Jags had a pretty serious bout with covid

The teams with the first 3 picks in the draft are all drafting quarterbacks.

One of those teams is a dysfunctional organization that has been looking for stability at qb for over 50 years, and has been a place where rookie qb’s go to suffer. Another one of those teams has been pretty bad itself the past 15 years or so aside from a run in 2017, they have a bit of upside though. The final team on the list has a pretty solid roster, is a pretty stable organization and has had recent success with two separate regimes over the past decade mixed in with some struggles between those regimes.

I’m wondering how much the organization these guys get drafted to will have a role in their success or lack of success in their careers.
Obviously when people talk about the Jets I get sentimental ... so take this with a grain of Salt ..

You don't know jack about the Jets ....

I think I know quite a bit. My family have had Jets seasons tickets for punishments since they like to be gluttons for punishment for some reason, so I’ll tag along every so often for free tickets. It’s been a lot of the same with them every year.

But I’ll entertain this. What was false about what I said?

Your referencing behaviors from older regimes when the one that's in tact now has proved the be different than the regimes of the past.

Douglas has literally done the opposite of what the "Jet thing to do" since he's been in charge

The jury is out on Douglas imo. If they nail those Seattle 1st round picks they’ll set up nice. But the Saleh hire was a decent move. I’ll give them that. All that said. If they draft Wilson. They need to do whatever it takes to put him in a position to succeed and learn from their past Jet F ups.

If that means sitting him for a bit next season rather than throwing him out there behind a piss poor offensive line, they should do it no matter how much the fanbase wants him out there. If they’re expected to be bad next year either way, Midas whale play it cautious with Wilson initially as they need to get that pick right by any means.

It's hard to have conversations with someone whose opinions are solely ESPN narrative driven.

Jets OL last year wasn't great but it was tremendously better than the year before

The statue Joe Flacco was able to perform well behind that same offensive line.

If you actually watched the team you would know that

But unfortunately the reality doesn't align with the narrative driven garbage that absolves Sam of his poor play

All we ever hear is it's everyone else's fault

I don’t think any of it is ESPN narrative driven. I’m just going off of what I’ve watched this past season and the seasons prior. I mentioned it earlier, but I follow the Jets a bit more than other teams

As for Darnold. He was more highly regarded coming into the draft than anyone not named Trevor Lawrence in this draft. I don’t think he should be absolved of his poor play, he’s accountable in this mess too. But the Jets failed him as well. As poorly ran organizations usually do in these cases. Both things can be true here though.
Flacco was serviceable, but by no means did he play well last season.

As for the everyone else’s fault part. Until the Jets prove otherwise. There’s some inconvenient truths to it. They don’t deserve the benefit of the doubt as an organization right now. They’ve ran though numerous coaches and gm’s and have had the same results. The 2-3 decent seasons of Vinny Testaverde is arguably the best qb play the Jets have had since Namath.

A "serviceable" Flacco was light-years better than Sam Darnold.

That's the problem

Because Darnold didn't have the best coaching, offensive line, or the best weapons he was failed?

Come on with that garbage

What QB drafted high walks into the best situations?

They have to take some responsibility in getting better and developing

He has shown NOTHING since his rookie season and again it's everyone else's fault

Justin Herbert didn't play behind a good coach or offensive line but he showed his insane arm talent and how tough he is by standing in that pocket and delivering those passes with extreme confidence in himself

Even if he didn't put up those numbers he would've passed the "eye test" EASILY everyone has seen the type of potential he has

Darnold makes 4 nice off platform throws his whole career and everyone loses it about all this potential that doesn't exist.

I've watched basically every snap of his career he's a bum and will always be a bum.

The ESPN machine oberhyped his bum *** since he was at USC and never got better.

Let's not anoint Joe Douglas just yet.
I don't see any anointing.

All I'm saying he's operating differently than regimes in the past

If Douglas' tenure here is average that's a huge upgrade over what Jets fans had to deal with the last 10+ years.

LOLJETS is the easiest, yet laziest narrative probably in all of the NFL. Is it warranted sometimes? In fairness, yes. But why hasn't the media once said "Trevor should avoid Jacksonville?"

Jeremy Fowler on ESPN said he was at Florida’s Pro Day, and that “there’s a little buzz that Saints like Kyle Trask, and could take him in Round 2 or 3”.

it‘s a little funny this gets said about the jete when y’all have been to 2 conference finals in somewhat recent memory

Which is better than a whole lotta teams

10 years ago  but yeah I really don't understand how not once we've seen the Jags be ridiculed and that Trevor should avoid them at all costs.

Now bc the Jets are in front of San Fran, Wilson should avoid the Jets at all costs?

I mean, if we’re talking dumpster fires, gotta start with the texans

we all acknowledge what a mess y’all had with gase and now he’s gone.. not hard to be positive about the direction things are going.. I’m not the highest on salah, but I was hearing a lot about the OC and I think a quality staff was put in place

but I look at the situations that have been a mess and still have their huge issues still glaring.. like cowboys and Washington, both got ownership problems.. giants have a GM problem
