Big perk talked about how he needed to understand the E in Espn. Man is getting his takes off and clicks up
Carry on

Him and dray going to be at each other necks for the next 20 years

I’m still not buying this. These superstar kids don’t pay for anything and haven’t for a while. There isn’t some guy out there just as nice as _____ that didn’t make it because he didn’t have the connections. If you’re that nice, they’ll find you. Word to Giannis. Look at where they found Ja morant.

The cream always rises to the top

Right. Don't connect the overall picture of a supposed lack of resources preventing the (low income) AVERAGE kid from participating to the profiles of potential pros.

The average kid is NEVER going to play professional sports or even have more than a .01% chance , regardless of if he's coming from Section 8 or a 2-parent household in the burbs.

If a kid from East New York has NBA potential and not a pot to piss in...I can assure you someone is going to find that kid and put him in the mix. Talent can't hide from the NBA.

Perk also said in that interview that KD and Russ NEVER ****** w/ each other. He said when he got there it was a mess in the locker room and everyone had their own cliques. Russ and KD was puttin on for the cameras but when they were off they weren't friends.

Remember when KD was the bad guy cause he left his "brother"

I like Murray a lot, but lowkey I’m curious to see what these 3 FRPs turn into. Potential to be all lotto picks by 2025/26

That's funny because I thought KD and Harden were close (with Jeff Green - Broingtons), plus Harden and Westbrook were close from their LA roots.

He said that until he got there and started organizing team outings...KD was hanging out w/ his entourage on the daily. Tensions were so high, allegedly families/entourages had static too.

Not the first time I heard that either. I forget who put the article out but I remember reading about how Jeremy Lamb and Reggie Jackson had static w/ a few ****** too.

I will never understand what KD/the people around him expected when he signed with a team that had a 2 time MVP, was coming off a 73-9 season, and beat his team down 3-1. He really could not see what the reaction and narrative around that move would become?

Just take the money. He's not in the all time great discussion. A ring isn't going to drastically sway opinion on him.

Add lacrosse to that list too. Was talking to a co-worker yesterday and he has a son that plays at Gilman and they just had to fork over $4k to play in a tournament in Vail.
Collegiate lacrosse is one of the best finesse affluent Northeastern white people ever pulled off

A ton of universities have teams, and they carry a lot of players, but there are a few hotbeds for the sport nationally. Your kid is good in one of those hotbeds, they are getting a scholarship.

So you get some of your investment back and you get the thing most important to affluent white parents. Bragging about what your kids is doing in college.

I think people running club teams caught on and started taxing the hell outta parents as a result. LAX coaches on the high school age club level look at these parents like...

Right. These kids getting scholarshipped in elementary school to play for these programs. I know a few former top 100 players whose moms were being taken care of since they were in 9th grade.

Not to disclose too much but julius had been looked out for since he was like in 6th grade.

He was trying to follow the Bron playback cirica Miami. Stack the deck, play with another all world top 5 player at the time (Wade/Steph) be the best player on said team even though it's the other guy's franchise (Miami/GS). Win Finals MVPs (b2b just like Bron) and then was supposed to get the universal acclaim as BITW (which he didn't get).

The miscalculation was the vitriol b/c he had a championship caliber team in OKC and the circumstances in which they blew that 3-1 lead (KD was uncharacteristically awful in those last 3 games). He took Bron's blueprint and improved to such a degree that for the first time ever it literally was a forgone conclusion who would win. He took the competition out if the game according to the aficionados.

Not feeling this conversation. Been seeing it a lot more. We’ve come a long way as a people, need to salute the progress we’ve made in our upward mobility. Nothing wrong with not being from the trenches.

The people from the trenches are trying to make it out. Salute to them. Can’t stand that divisive talk
And it all started from a dumb/false point anyway…It’s still dudes from rough places in the league, just most of em don’t gotta broadcast it 24/7 or try to build up that image like Ja or something…Swanigan (RIP) background is damn near as bad as it gets n yo was a 1st round pick

At the end of the day tho, a hooper is a hooper no matter where you from n if you that nice you’ll get a look…It’s just a game

Perk also said LeBron and Wade were whispering in James Harden ear during the 2012 Olympics to leave OKC so they could win more titles.

I believe that one.

Woj has been peddling the story that Kobe was in Westbrook's ear at that Olympics for years.

I knew who Baron Davis was when he was only a 7th grader because someone had already discovered him in South Central and arranged for him to attend Crossroads School and play ball. He played varsity Summer league as a middle-schooler.
