It's a major thing for those team sports in America besides Football outside of the QB position, a lot of higher income parents don't want their kids playing football due to the dangers of it so NFL still get a lot of the kids from the trenches outside of the QB position where you have to spend money for trainers starting at a young age for most of them that make it to the NFL

Collegiate lacrosse is one of the best finesse affluent Northeastern white people ever pulled off
A ton of universities have teams, and they carry a lot of players, but there are a few hotbeds for the sport nationally. Your kid is good in one of those hotbeds, they are getting a scholarship.
So you get some of your investment back and you get the thing most important to affluent white parents. Bragging about what your kids is doing in college.
I think people running club teams caught on and started taxing the hell outta parents as a result. LAX coaches on the high school age club level look at these parents like...
And the best part about it is after spending all that money all they can do is go work at dads office since there is absolutely no future with lacrosse unless they’re cool with $35k a year max

One of the dumbest and most clueless people I’ve ever known growing up. Played on the ball team for a few years with us but was also the LAX goalie for our HS.
