As much as I disliked the Russ MVP his performance against the Rockets didn't factor into it at all and I've never brought it up as why. It's always been what happened in the regular season and who I felt was more deserving (Harden).

It's the same with Jokic. I've posted I don't think he should win this year. He probably will though and I'll dislike it not because the Warriors are destroying them without their 2nd and 3rd best player, but because I feel Giannis and Embiid deserve it more based on season performance.

Is it a bad look to give an MVP to someone who lost in the first round? Maybe. The Dirk MVP is brought up a lot for that reason. But people can't look into the future and go "Oh this guy ****s the bed in the playoffs, let's give it to someone else."

Too much going on in here already and I’m not going to try and catch up completely. So I’ll just say there’s definitely a lot to be excited about with the Warriors so far in the playoffs. That said, Cam Payne looked like a star a lot of the time against pretty much the same Denver backcourt players last year. Whoever the Dubs get in the next round will be a much tougher test.

and when analyzing sports position that heavily index athleticism. RB, CB, Center, Power Forward ect

they tend to consistently underrate the abilities of their white counterparts.

This dynamic changes depending on the position and what white people are comparing and contrasting.

Magic and Bird debate weren't about athleticism, it was about skill and talent and basketball genius.

I think there's an argument to be made for all 3 of Joker/Embiid/Giannis to win. Pretty much 1A/1B/1C to me.

The idea that Joker should not win solely based on his team's record while missing their 2nd and 3rd best players all year seems pretty stupid though. We know they're better than a 6 seed when they have their guys, and Joker still maintains his numbers and efficiency. They played at a 53 win pace last season. Would've been good for 3rd in the West this year. Same 3rd in the West they got last year.

If you want to discuss his defense and whatever else not being on the same level as Yanni and Embiid, that's cool, but basically making something out of his hands the main swing factor is dumb.
