Dr. Anthony Fauci: MLB season should end in September

Dr. Anthony Fauci said that if there is a 2020 MLB season, the season — including both the regular season and the postseason — should end in September before a second wave of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) hits the U.S. The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) said, “If the question is time, I would try to keep it in the core summer months and end it not with the way we play the World Series, until the end of October when it’s cold. I would avoid that.”

According to The New York Times, Florida, Texas, and Arizona set records on Tuesday for the most cases of the novel coronavirus in a single day. California has also seen a surge in cases. Still, Fauci said, “I think the chances of there being less of an issue in the end of July and all of August and September are much, much better than if you go into October.”

Safe to say the juiced balls will still be around when it returns. They’re gonna need them again now.
Yep.

Last year there were 6,776 home runs hit.

Five seasons ago that number was 4,186.

Once games get back played MLB definitely knows what they need to do

I feel like Texas is already getting that 2nd wave now since they reopened the state. They just increased restaurants to 75% capacity and just reported yesterday that a quarter or so of their employees are testing positive since reopening. The numbers here have been rapidly on the rise, and again reported yesterday that hospitals were having to turn ppl away because they were being overwhelmed with cases. Those are just the cases that were known/diagnosed. I have family that work in the medical field and they’re saying the cases are being underreported as well.

Yeah there were something like 1500 cases in Florida the other day and only 150-200 in Massachusetts, a state that has been extra cautious.

Only outside dining here. Limited capacity. Can't get up unless you have to go to the bathroom. Mask to the table when you arrive and up until you're eating. No bar seating. It's amazing that anyone actually goes through that just to eat

60 games in 70 days was reportedly proposed, some folks reporting players want 65-66. Nothing done yet, but it definitely looks better than it did Monday.

16 team playoffs sounds crazy though.

Yep I'm not believing it until the players actually take the field this year. An expanded playoff option would be perfect for the sport and definitely bring some excitement this year.

Still doesn't feel like summer as this time of year I'm usually looking for midweek deals to attend games at the Safe (still hate the TMobile Park name smh) or looking at the upcoming promos (as an M's fan this somewhat makes up for the playoff drought....).

Aubrey huff is the dumbest person I’ve probably ever had the encounter of meeting. He walked into a party in the city and said “wats up *****es” swear to you there were like 2 woman there, it was damn near a dinner party and this dude was dressed like he was going to the gun range. Goofy *** dude.
