Kuck told the outlet that Savage applied for a U visa in 2017 and the application is still under review and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) knew about it but didn’t take any action until the rapper’s arrest this past weekend.
He explained that 21 applied for a U visa based on him being a victim of a crime. He said that Savage was shot during a 2013 incident where his best friend was murdered. According to Kuck, Savage was deeply affected by his friend's death, and, since he's a victim of a crime, that puts him in position for permanent residency in the U.S.
