Pure win in this thread. Literally got me about to drop tears over hear. Thousands of hours logged between so many of these games.

Some of my GOATS:
Joe Montana Football
Tecmo Bowl 1 & 2
Punch Out
Jordan vs. Bird
Shinobi
Ninja Gaiden
Contra (that code is permanently embedded into my memory)
TMNT 1 & 2
Double Dragon
Bulls vs. Blazers
NBA JAM
Street Fighter 2 (I remember the frenzy it caused once it was announced for SNES)
Sonic 1, 2, & 3
Jackal

And just about every title in this thread so far. The NES will be plugged up this weekend guaranteed.

Did anyone's local arcades ever have the bootleg Street Fighter IIs? Prior to Super Street Fighter II and all the rest of those a whole bunch of hacked versions were all over the place with all kinds of stuff put in like getting stuck in the air when jumping, fireballs that had a zig zag pattern, fireballs from characters that didn't have them. It was such a pain to play on those because things could break, but I knew a few people that hung out at the arcades that spent a lot of time and money mastering the hacks.
best "hacked" one was "street fighter II champion edition accelerator Pt 2"

it had a perfect balance of wacky and stable gameplay, had it not been for these hacks street fighter would've never evolved into

da hyping fighting and versus series. da hacked games were da grand father of all that.
