hi guys who here has bought the gil II zeros? any comment? do you guys think it will be sold out just like the gil zeros last year. they released it a bit latethis year. and any info/insights on what other colors would be made available to our market? wanna buy one but im thinking of waiting for the white-bluecolorway.

^
i got both the home and away colorways. i balled in the home colorway yesterday. they're great on court but not as soft as the zoom bbs. im gonna try usingthe clima cool insole next.

gil zeros sold out because gilbert tore the nba a new one last year.since gil is sidelined im pretty sure its gonna hurt somewhat on the salesof this years model.im really tempted to pick the sandstorms up but the retail price here is ridonkulous

i have the black gil zeros... i agree with the fellow who said that it wasnt as soft as the zoom bb's... but it is still comfortable and in a way feelsmore padded compared to the bb's... the option to choose between insoles is a plus because in one way or another you can actually feel the difference amongthem... i dont know if it'll sell as good as the first one but in my opnion they are better than the former...

besides they look great paired either with jeans or shorts... hehehe

THE mi adidas program was exclusively made for its stable of athlete-endorsers like footballers Zinedine Zidane and David Beckham, tennis players Martina Hingis and Justine Henin, and runner Haile Gebrselassie among many others.

But in this age of instant gratification where customer service is paramount, adidas has blown the gates wide open providing serious sports fans a slice of the pro athlete's secret to optimum performance.

Previously, a customer had to make do with and adapt to what he bought off the racks. Now, the top-flight technology allows Filipino athletes and sports fans the opportunity to avail themselves of customized shoe wear to their exact personal fit, performance, color, and design.

The customization allows serious athletes to purchase top-of-the-line athletic footwear such as the football Predator or the running Supernova while tailoring them to the mi adidas program. And this technology encompasses a wide range of sports such as football, running, basketball, tennis and indoor sports.

On Friday, August 24, at the adidas store in TriNoma (Quezon City), BusinessMirror was invited by the athletic-gear giant to try out the mi adidas. So one can bet that it felt good to be one of those who will be able to experience this revolutionary technology. Adidas key accounts specialist Mitch Averia shared the easy and quick three-step process:

Step One, mi fit: The feet exact length and width are measured for mi adidas customization.

Step Two, mi performance: The customer, if made to run on the WMS board where the pressure distribution of his feet and their unique physical attributes, are mapped out. This is relevant because it enables for the creation of the proper dimensions and contours that will snugly conform to the customer's feet.

Step Three, mi design: Where the customer chooses the colors, materials and an optional message or signature for their individual pair of shoes.

"Since the shoe is customized, the product will take anywhere from three to six weeks before it gets in the hands of the customer," added Averia. "It's literally putting the customer in the shoes of Beckham, Zidane or Hingis. You see mi adidas is not just a product, but a service and an experience."

Adidas also made use of the occasion for a soft launch of the Right to Play program of adidas worldwide. "The Right to Play program basically is a fund-raiser where a special and limited edition football is put on sale [P495]," said Odette Velarde, adidas Philippines' marketing communications manager. "The proceeds will go into specially designed programs that make use of sports and values enrichment modules to improve health, build life skills, and foster peace in countries in Africa, the Middle East and Asia."

On hand for the soft launch of the Right to Play program were Purefoods coach Ryan Gregorio, Air21 rookie JC Intal, San Miguel Beer center Rico Villanueva, Ateneo Blue Eagles guard Jai Reyes, and Solar Sports' vice president for sports marketing Jude Turcuato.

from what i remember.. it was around 8-11k, depending on model.

one cool thing about adidas's version is that they measure each foot, so if you have one foot bigger than the other, you can actually get different sizesin the same pair.

too bad my friend's adidas contract is up..

re: gil 2 zero's, tried it on in going to the gym and it's fit is much harder compared to the gil zeros, then used it for balling and my foot kept onslipping. i usually wear a 10.5's and its fit is much bigger. if you want to get one i guess you should get half size smaller.

Agent Zero coming to town

Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas is scheduled to visit Manila on July 5-8 and a grand welcome awaits one of the six NBA stars from the celebrated Adidas brotherhood.

Arenas, 26, will fly in to launch three new signature shoes, visit Adidas stores, conduct clinics for kids, endorse socially-oriented projects like "Gawad Kalinga" and witness the UAAP basketball game between La Salle and Ateneo as a guest at the Araneta Coliseum on July 6.

The three shoes will be known as "Agent Zero," "Hibachi" and "Black President"- all nicknames of the flamboyant Arenas, a corporate social responsibility ambassador for Adidas.

The Adidas brotherhood is made up of Arenas, Kevin Garnett, Chauncey Billups, Tim Duncan, Dwight Howard and Tracy McGrady.

Arenas will plane in with three companions from Beijing where he is slated to stay four days. From Manila, he returns to the US.

Arenas was tagged "Agent Zero" for wearing No. 0 on his jersey, a remembrance of when he was told by critics in high school he would play zero minutes in college. He was also dubbed "Hibachi" because like the grill, he sizzles on the court. Arenas got the nickname "Black President" in reference to his campaign to prove himself worthy of playing in the All-Star Game and his personal commitment to support Barack Obama.

Arenas' itinerary will be finalized after the playoffs. At the moment, Arenas is locked in battle for the Wizards against Cleveland in an Eastern Conference first round series.

Arenas, a clutch shooter with nerves of steel, is in his seventh NBA season after he was drafted in the second round by Golden State in 2001 from the University of Arizona. He was the NBA's Most Improved Player and MVP of the Rookies-Sophomores game during the All-Star Weekend in 2003. Arenas was voted to start for the East team in the 2007 All-Star Game. His NBA career high is 60 points.

This season, Arenas saw action in Washington's first eight games then underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee before returning to play in five of the Wizards' last eight games entering the playoffs. He averaged 19.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists in 13 contests.

Four years ago in Shanghai, Arenas was introduced to Manila journalists Bill Velasco, Anthony Suntay and Jinno Rufino during an Adidas camp. Adidas' Goody Custodio, who was in Shanghai, said Arenas came across as a fun-loving, regular guy who's friendly, approachable and accommodating.

"Gilbert is the ideal ambassador," said Adidas' Odette Velarde. "He's got a smile for everyone. He's like Allen Iverson without the mother and attitude. He's talkative and outgoing. Filipino fans will love him."

A prankster, Arenas is notorious for his lockerroom antics like hiding players' jerseys. He once took a shower at halftime of a game, disguised baby powder for sugar on donuts he offered to teammates and ate 12 cheeseburgers on a road trip in Canada.

After every game, Arenas tosses his jersey to the crowd. It's become an Arenas ritual at home or on the road and fans go crazy trying to grab his uniform.

Arenas was raised by his father who has roots in Cuba. His mother, a drug addict, abandoned him as a child. Arenas has a son Alijah and a daughter Izela Semayah. He is hooked to playing video games and owns over 400 autographed NBA players' jerseys in his collection.

As a pro, Arenas has made it a habit to win games with buzzer-beaters. Last season, he buried a 32-footer to lift Washington to a 108-105 win over Milwaukee and drained another triple as the Wizards beat Utah, 114-111. Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant was once quoted as saying Arenas is one of the most difficult players to defend in the NBA.

Next year, Adidas will bring in Garnett for the first time to Manila. The plan is for two NBA stars to visit. The Boston Celtics forward was supposed to come over two years ago but McGrady arrived instead when he went to China and India in a last-minute change.

Just looked for this when my friend told me about this Adidas Ladies DM Runners...another Philippine colorway which is better than the Gazelle
