One reason: retail pricing
If you remember, when 700s were $300 retail, aside from like Waves and Vantas, most cws were going for under retail on the secondary market. Once they dropped the retail pricing to $240, there was a lot more resellers buying up pairs. Profit margins are everything to resellers, tbh.

It’s the most affordable which allows literally everyone to get in on the action because it’s not much to lose, this applies to both consumers that actually want to wear them and resellers that want to sell them for 4x they paid for.
